Warming-up practice:

1. Recruitment involves seeking and attracting a supply of people from which qualified candidates for job vacancies can be selected. Generally it contains two forms: promotion-from within and adding new employee.

3. Do you know “headhunting”? Talk about it. Headhunting, also executive search, is

particularly prevalent in areas where market growth has been driven by skills shortages in client companies who are in a constant process of change. This is particularly the case in the finance, consulting and information technology sectors.

The headhunter begins by identifying possible candidates through desk research or extensive contact networks. After making contact, the headhunter interviews candidates at their company offices or at a neutral location.

Then the headhunter collates 【比较】 candidates’ CVs and presents his findings to the client, who shortlists【最后挑选】 three or four candidates. The client then interviews the candidates, after which the headhunter provides feedback and assists in the offer process to ensure a successful conclusion.

As for remuneration, the headhunter will charge 30% percent of the appointee’s first annual salary. The fee is normally charged as retainer, a shortlist fee and a completion fee.
