ADVERTISEMENT FOR FACULTY POSITIONS

National Law University Odisha is a premier Law University of India, established under Act –IV

of 2008 by State Government in the year 2008. The University strives to promote quality

teaching and research in a holistic perspective. The University is inviting applications for the

following faculty and staff positions. We are looking for law teachers specialized in Corporate

Law, Constitutional Law and Intellectual Property Law and distance-online education in law.

DETAILED ELIGIBILITY NORMS & CRITERIA:

1. PROFESSOR OF LAW

Education Qualifications:

An eminent scholar with Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and

published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of high quality

published works with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in

research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of

guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology

mediated teaching learning process.

A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based

Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) of UGC OR

An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made

significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be

substantiated by credentials

2. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF LAW

Education Qualification:

Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.

A Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale

wherever grading system is followed) from any recognized University or an equivalent degree

from any foreign University.


A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research

position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited

Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. Degree research with evidence of

quality published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and /or research/policy

papers.

Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-

mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and

research students.

A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based

Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) of UGC.

3. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF LAW


Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale

wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an

Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National

Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC like

SLET/SET.

Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this clause candidates, who are

or have been awarded Ph. D Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission

(Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, shall be

exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for

recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in the University.

4. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT


Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale

wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an

Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National

DETAILED ELIGIBILITY NORMS & CRITERIA:

1. ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN

(i) Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / documentation with CGPA

of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC

seven point scale and consistently good academic record..

(ii) Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other

agency approved by the UGC.

(iii) At least two years as a post qualification experience in the library of a technical

university, educational institute of national importance, or any other large technical

library or an equivalent post.

2. PRIVATE SECRETARY

(i) Graduate with any discipline from a recognized University;

(ii) Shorthand & Knowledge of Microsoft Office/ Open Office Org etc are essential

(iii) At least two years as a post qualification experience in similar position in, educational

institute of national importance, or an equivalent post.

3. ASSISTANT FINANCE OFFICER

(i) Full time CA/ ICWA/ M.Com/ MBA (Finance) with at least 60 % marks and having at

least three years suitable experience in Accounting / Financial Management in an

organization.

(ii) Knowledge of Tally or any other accounting software(s) is essential

(iii) Candidates having experience in construction project will be preferred.

4. JUNIOR DATA ENTRY OPERATOR


(ii) Diploma in Computer Application [recognized by Department of Electronics] or

equivalent.

(iii) The minimum duration of the course should be 6 months full time course;


5. OFFICE ASSISTANT


(ii) Shorthand & Knowledge of Microsoft Office/ Open Office Org etc are essential

(iii) At least two years as a post qualification experience in similar position in, educational

institute of national importance, or an equivalent post.

6. ENGINEER (CIVIL)

(i) B.Tech/B.E. with good academic record in Civil Engineering from any UGC/AICTE

recognized institution with minimum 5 years of working experience in the building

construction & ancillary works.

(ii) Experience must include the construction supervision, billing of the construction,

laboratory test of materials, full exposure & understanding to quality

assurance/management, building designs & interiors.

(iii) Must have worked in any Government/Public Sector Undertaking/ Large Private

Sector of repute for the construction of institutional buildings/ay multi storied building.

(iv) Must have working knowledge in computers, in liaison with Government Departments.

(v) Senior retired persons with experience may also be considered.

3. Candidates who are desirous of applying for more than one post will have to submit a separate prescribed Application form for each post separately. Application submitted for a particular post is not transferable to any other post.

4. Application for each post must be placed in a SEPARATE COVER and the name of the post applied for must be SUPER-SCRIBED on the envelope without fail. The University shall not be responsible for any misplacement, omission etc. if two or more applications are put in one cover by the candidate.

5. Candidates already in Government/ Semi Government/ PSU service should send their application through proper channel. An advance copy may be sent directly. However, in such cases the candidates called for interview will have to produce No Objection Certificate or original applications duly forwarded by the competent authority of their institutions, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to appear before the Selection Committee.

6. Application or CV/Bio-Data sent through e-mail will not be considered under any

circumstances, unless followed by hard copy with signature within the prescribed last date. 7. Applications received after the stipulated date or incomplete in any respect or not readable

easily will not be entertained and no further correspondence will be made in this regard. 8. University will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage. No

correspondence/queries will be entertained regarding postal delays, conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview.

9. Candidates should submit the application form in the prescribed format along with recent

passport size photograph. Application other than the prescribed format will not be entertained.

10. All Mark sheet, Certificates, Degrees, NOC and other documents must be produced in

originals at the time of interview and joining for verification. In case, it is detected that the documents mentioned/ submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has undesirable clandestine antecedents/ background and has suppressed the said information, then shall not be allowed to appear before selection Committee or to join

11. No accommodation will be provided in the University Guest House for attending the

Interview.


12. The University reserves the right to fill/not to fill or increase/decrease any post. The University also reserves the right to offer temporary or contract appointments against the advertised posts.

13. The University reserves the right to offer a lower rank position against a higher rank

position depending on the suitability of the candidate. 14. The University reserves the right to alter/insert any corrections/additions in the

advertisement/website in the event of any typographical error before the last date prescribed for the receipt of applications.

15. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without

giving any reason. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of interview may also be filled up from the available candidates. The number of positions is thus open to change. Higher initial payment GP/AGP may be given to exceptionally qualified and deserving candidates with relevant experience

16. Pay of the selected candidate will be fixed as per the recommendations of the selection

committee only. Candidate from Government/ Semi Government/ Quasi Government service seeking pay protection must make claim before selection committee at the time of interview for necessary recommendation to avail protection.

17. Request for conduct of interview through Telephone/Video Conference/Skype or in any other mode will not be considered.

18. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidates.

19. The decision of the University in all matters will be final. No correspondence / in trim enquiry will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection/interview.

21. Only Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. No TA or DA will be paid to any applicant.
