There are two ways to record a lecture capture video in the AGS building: Set it up to record automatically every class period for the allotted time or record each class period separately and control when you start and stop the recording.

REQUEST TO HAVE LECTURE CAPTURE RECORD AUTOMATICALLY

Setting up lecture capture to automatically record your class period ensures that you do not have to push any buttons on the podium to start or stop your recording. It will record at the start time of the class and will stop recording at the end time.

To have your course setup for automatic lecture capture recording:

1. Respond to the lecture capture inquiry email sent out before every semester begins and make note in your response that you would like lecture capture setup to automatically record.

Or email [email protected] with your course information

ITS will get your ensemble account setup and a playlist created for the specific courses you request automatic capture be setup for.

2. Once your courses are setup, all you will need to do in the classroom is:

Check the audio in the room.

i. Click on the podium Crestron screen

Select the Audio Levels button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen

You will see three options under audio levels. Select each button to unmute the two mics and the source volume (as seen below outlined in yellow). The default volume is set as muted and must be unmuted before class for audio to record.

Then you must decide if you are going to walk and lecture or stay at the podium. If you do walk and talk during your lecture, you must wear the lapel mic. If you do not wear the lapel mic, you must lecture from the podium so the podium mic will pick up your audio.

After setting up your mic, make sure you do not start your lecture earlier than your scheduled start time – the recording will only record your set class period allotted time.

Later in the day or week, login to ensemble and view your recorded videos by clicking on your playlist which are named by courses. Delete videos you do not need/want available to your students or make any edits you may want to your videos.

3. To add your lecture capture playlist to WTClass, see page 9.

4. To add a single lecture capture video to WTClass, see page 12.

Record each class period manually 3

RECORD EACH CLASS PERIOD MANUALLY

The benefit of recording each class period separately is that you have control of when the recording begins and when it ends. You will have to physically start and stop your video recording.

To have your course setup to manually record lecture capture videos:

1. Respond to the lecture capture inquiry email sent out before every semester begins and make note in your response that you would like to use lecture capture but that you want to choose when you record.

Or email [email protected] with your course information

Follow the steps below to record a single video using lecture capture:

2. You must first check the audio in the room. To do so follow the steps below:

Click on the podium Crestron screen

Select the Audio Levels button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen

USING THE ENSEMBLE VIDEO MASHUP

Locate the video within the Choose Media list. Click on the Plus button (Insert).

Select the desired option for how the video will display to students:

• Video Player – students see the video embedded in WTClass. Setting up this option does NOT allow for the video to track individual student access. It will only track number of views and average watch length.
