Hi, I am Matia Campora from Milano, Italy.

This is my third peer-reviewed assignment for Introduction to Music Production, a Courseracourse provided by the Berklee College of Music.

In this tutorial we will write, record and edit automation in Logic Pro X.

    Let's start!

  • The new track (Inst 1) appears in the Tracks Area

Choose a Software Instrument patch: in the library click a category on the left, than a patch name on the right.

I choose: Arpeggiator Synth Chords Chord Nirvana

and show automation for the track:

  • With the automation mode set to Read, choose the parameter that you want to automate.

    I choose:

    Smart Controls > High Cut

and design a straight line from 160 Hz to 1800 Hz to automate the Filter

RECORD AND EDIT AUTOMATION IN LOGIC PRO X !5

  • To add a control point to an empty automation curve we can click anywhere in the automation track

To add a control point to an existing automation curve we will double click an empty area of the automation track.

To add additional automations click the + that appears when you place the pointer over the track header

    To live record automation:

    - choose any of this automation modes: write, latch and touch

    - get your project playing

    - start moving your levels, pans and plug-in parameters

When you're done you'll find that everything has been recorded and it's ready to use.

Thank you for taking the time to read and evaluate this submission. If you have any feedback or if theres anything else I can do to explain things better, I would love to hear from you.
