RECONCILIATION True reconciliation is emotional, dramatic, and cleansing. When two people meet heart to heart and work through old hurts, misunderstandings, and careless words, cleansing tears often flow and the encounter ends with an embrace that fills both with the warmth of a love too strong to fade. The readings this weekend assure us of this healthy release that comes with reconciliation. They give us the courage to reach out to someone with whom we need to reconcile ourselves, and give us the courage to ask for forgiveness from God, too. In the reading from Exodus, we see how God refuses again and again to give up on the Israelites. Even though they grow impatient with God and turn to false idols, God still calls them back. Luke’s Gospel assures us that God rejoices when we turn away from sin. Paul’s letter to Timothy encourages us, like Paul, to look back on our lives and recognize where God’s patient mercy has been shown to us. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co. The last few weeks following the “Historic Flooding Event” have been tumultuous andeventful. Our Church Family helped with recovery by providing a temporary shelter, feeding the hungry and distributing supplies to the victims.

Over 125 hot lunch meals, on average 600 bag lunches, and 300 hot evening meals perweek were served to workers and flood victims. This could not have been possible withoutthe generous donations of our parishioners. Everything happened so fast that we were notable to keep accurate records of donations. We are so grateful to each of you whoresponded to our pleas for sandwich fixings, hot meals and your volunteer time.

Thank you for the monetary donations that arrived from those who couldn’t volunteer. There was an effort to use every single donation to benefit those in need.

Thank you also for the many strong hands that helped to move, clean, and remove itemsfrom flooded homes. Your help was invaluable for so many people in need.

And lastly, thank you for the prayers that sustained us during our efforts.

(Just one example of the many thanks expressed by parishioners- Sorry, we can’t print them all. )

To my Brothers and Sisters in Christ,There are not words to express my gratitude to those who came to givethe help and support I so desperately needed after the flood. God lovesyou and so do I!Bernice
