PETER FARRANT Conductor began his professional career in 1993, promoting new andunusual works alongside mainstream repertoire to great acclaim, at prestigious venues both in theUK and overseas. His London appearances have included The Royal Albert Hall, Royal FestivalHall, St John’s Smith Square, St Martin-in-the-Fields, St Paul’s Covent Garden, and St James'Piccadilly. Peter’s energy and vision have transformed choirs, and enabled individuals of all agesand abilities to discover the enjoyment and benefits that can be gained from experiencing liveperformance.

KATHRYN SARGENT Soprano studied singing with Marjorie Thomas and David Johnstonand holds diplomas from the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and Trinity Collegeof Music. She has appeared numerous times as soloist in oratorio and concert works includingVaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony, Strauss’ Four Last Songs, Berlioz’s Les Nuits D’Eté, Verdi’sRequiem and Britten’s War Requiem, Brahms’ Requiem, Rutter’s Magnificat and Mozart’s SolemnVespers. Her appearances include Europe, Russia, Australia, South Africa, Israel and China.

RAY MAULKIN Organist studied at the Purcell School and Royal Academy of Music. He is aFellow of the Royal College of Organists and holds a BMus (Hons) degree from DurhamUniversity.  As accompanist to the Southend Boys’ Choir, he appeared in many concert venues,including those on the South Bank, and in broadcasts and recordings both in this country andabroad. Ray has accompanied the English Concert Singers on many of their international toursand appeared at prestigious cathedrals and concert venues including St John’s Smith Square.

REIGATE & REDHILL CHORAL SOCIETY began in 1941 and has been part of the musicallife of the area since its foundation. 1998 marked a significant turning point with the appointment ofcurrent Music Director, Peter Farrant. Under Peter's direction Reigate & Redhill Choral Society hasworked tirelessly to meet ambitious objectives that respond to the needs of the surroundingcommunity with a variety of exciting workshops, festivals, tours, recordings, education initiativesand partnerships. The choir, a registered charity and affiliate of ‘Making Music’, has also performedextensively both in the UK and abroad. Professional soloists and instrumentalists are regularlyengaged.
