The homeowners asked to create a new kitchen that was open to a family room where the entire family could relax and connect. The design resulted in an addition to the home that included a galley kitchen, complete with double ovens, warming drawer, trash compactor and a built-in banquette for casual dining. Anigrewood cabinets in a high gloss finish coordinated with a brown patterned granite counter along the back wall and a black Corian counter on the island. A black marble tile backsplash and satin nickelhardware finish this contemporary kitchen. Halogen lighting and a radiant heated slate floor add sparkle and warmth to the space.

Kitchen RenovationThe homeowners’ request was simple. “Can we renovate this kitchen and complete the work in 8 weeks?” The deadline was firm. LizMurphyDesign provided design and project managementservices and pulled together a trusted team of trades and kitchen professionals to meet the deadline and give the homeowners a kitchen of their dreams. Contemporary influences were evident in theiridescent tile backsplash, the pendant lighting fixtures and the white quartz counters. The custom frameless cabinets supplied by W.T. Leggett of Pittsburgh combined two finishes and creative storageaccessories. Under cabinet lighting and electrical power strips both met Code and minimized the need for multiple outlets cut into the tile backsplash. A 48” dual fuel range features two ovens anda griddle. A timeline was established, the team got to work and the deadline was met.
