Rongelap Atoll Local Government (RALGOV)

Registrant counseled the foreign principal on several matters involving the U.S. Government during this reporting period. Registrant monitored and advised foreign principal on various U.S. policy developments and their potential impact on the bilateral relationship.

1/21 and 1/22: Communicated with Gail Fujita of the Economic Development Administration (EDA) of the Department of the Commerce to

schedule a February meeting on behalf of Mayor James Matayoshi ofthe Rongelap Atoll Local Government (RALGOV) ofthe Marshall Island to

discuss a potential EDA grant application related to an aquaculture project undertaken by the RALGOV & Aquaculture Technologies of the

Marshall Islands (ATMI).

1/22: Communicated with Joseph McDermott who is the Marshall Island's Desk Officer for the Department of Interior's (DOI) Office of Insular

Affairs (OIA) in regard to scheduling a February meeting with both Mr. McDermott and Mr. Nik Pula, who is the Director of DOI's OlAto provide

an update on RALGov's aquaculture initiative, using additional funds within the RALGOV Resettlement Trust Fund to support this initiative, as

well as a potential DOI OIA Technical Assistance grant. Also spoke with Mr. McDermott about identifying the appropriate contacts for Mayor

Matayoshi to meet with at the US. Agency for International Development (USAID) which is an agency within the Department of State.

2/2: Communicated with Joseph McDermott who is the Marshall Island's Desk Officer for the Department of Interior's (DOI) Office of Insular

Affairs (OIA) in regard to scheduling a February meeting with Mr. McDermott, Mr. Nik Pula, and DOI Assistant Secretary for Insular Affairs Esther

Kia'aina, for the purposes of discussing the RALGOV/ATMI aquaculture initiative, using additional funds within the RALGOV Resettlement Trust

Fund to support this initiative, as well as a potential DOI OIA Technical Assistance grant. Also spoke with Mr. McDermott about identifying the

Secretary's visit to the Marshall Islands and the issues that would be discussed at this meeting.

3/3 and 3/4: Communicated with Joseph McDermott who is the Marshall Island's Desk Officer for the Department of interior's (DOI) Office of

Insular Affairs (OIA) in regard to DOI Assistant Secretary for Insular Affairs Esther Kia'aina trip to the Marshall Islands in the month of March .

We communicated in regard to the time, location, and duration of the meeting scheduled between Assistant Secretary Kia'aina and Mayor

James Matayoshi and issues that would be discussed at this meeting.

4/6: Communicated with Shirley Lewis, the Executive Assistant for DOj Assistant Secretary Esther Kia'aina and Joe McDermott of DOI in regard

to setting up a meeting in Washington, DC (main Interior) between the Assistant Secretary and the RALGov delegation.

4/9,4/10 and 4/13,4/14: Communicated with the following individuals to set up meetings with them on behalf of Mayor James Matayoshi and

the RALGov delegation for a mid-April visit:

4/15 and 4/16: Communicated with Joe McDermott and Hailey McCoy of DDI's Office of Insular Affairs on follow up items in regard to a meeting with Assistant Secretary Kai'ana

4/16: Joined Mayor James Matayoshi and a delegation from RALGov in a meeting with Brian Modeste of the House Resources Committee to

discuss the RALGOV/ATMI aquaculture initiative, using additional funds within the RALGOV Resettlement Trust Fund to support this initiative, as
