2013 Chapter Events

December 2013 ... Holiday Party!

Our annual holiday party was a chance to celebrate together and lift a

glass our colleagues. The Waterworks Museum, an amazing property

constructed at the height of Boston's "Golden Age", was the perfect venue.

During the course of the evening we honored board members and collected

donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, a tradition of giving that

dates back to 1996.

November 2013 ... Creative Holiday Appetizers with Chef Bill

We enjoyed an entertaining and educational evening with Chef Bill who

demonstrated how to cook two fabulous appetizers in the Miele New

England Showroom. Chef Bill also brought many more yummy appetizers

for us to sample and savor. Event Pictures

October 2013 ... 12th Annual Interactive Member Dinner

This was the most successful member dinner we have ever held with over

18 vendors participating in the interactive showcase, fabulous attendance

and a great talk from business growth advisor Jim Pouliopoulos.

September 2013 ... The Fine Art of Bedding

With the help of two experts, we explored all bedding topics from thread-

count to dye methods to layering techniques. This interactive event was

enjoyed by members, guests and students. The networking opportunity

during cocktails and appetizers was used to great advantage by all! Event Pictures

July 2013 ... Lunch & Learn with Jody Seivert

Jody Seivert, owner of One x One Companies, shared her experience and

strategies for qualifying clients and pricing work for ultimate success. The

interactive workshop was open to members, guests and students and included lunch.

June 2013 ... Summer Cruise with ASID

This members-only event was a terrific opportunity to enjoy views of

Boston and Cambridge while socializing with peers from both IFDA New England and ASID New England.

May 2013 ... Raising YOUR Revenues with Jody Seivert

Jody Seivert of One x One Companies gave a presentation that

encompassed how pricing projects helps build a design business and its

revenues and profitability. Her presentation also touched upon how to

attract premium projects, a key to selling premium products. Event Pictures

April 2013 ... Connecting the Dots

Public relations and marketing experts delved into the importance of public

relations, how PR relates to the interior design industry, how PR differs

from marketing and advertising, what a PR person does to build a strategy

that meets the needs of a client, and more!

March 2013 ... Adding Value, A Pannel Discussion

Most of us devote a quarter of our lives paying for our homes, without

giving it a second thought. With a moderated panel of experts we

discussed the principles of home design that challenge this conventional

wisdom.

February 2013 ... Double-Header Event

We kicked-off our 2013 program year with a celebratory double-header.

We welcomed our new GOLD sponsor Poggenpohl Boston and tasted wines

from around the world. Jo-Ann Ross, the Chief Wine Educator from J

Ross Wine, led the wine tasting which was a unique and "snob-
