4 On one occasion, while (Jesus) was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit…”8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:4-5, 8 dunamis (doo'-nam-is); a force; a miraculous power, the explosive power of God.

• TO SHARE CHRIST BOLDLY.4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

WORLD.13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

HOLY SPIRIT GIVES YOU THE POWER• WHEN YOU ARE WEAK.

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26

HOLY SPIRIT GIVES YOU THE POWER• TO PRAY EFFECTIVELY ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. Rom 8:26-27

• TO LIVE A GODLY LIFE.• Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think

about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace. Romans 8:5-6 NLT

I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. The old sinful nature loves to do evil, which is just opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants…These two forces are constantly fighting each other, and your choices are never free from this conflict. Galatians 5:16-17 NLT

HOLY SPIRIT GIVES YOU THE POWER• TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH SPIRITUAL GIFTS.

God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Hebrews 2:4 A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church. 1 Corinthians 12:7 NLT

16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love. Eph. 3:16-17

Imagine how different our life will be if we live a life empowered by the Holy Spirit.
