Future Work: Improving Design of Experiment • Make experiment time longer to assure more

deposition on filter Current range of deposition ~ 0.7 - 4 mg

• Produce various replicates of the incense stick experiments for further statistical analysis

• Use a wider range of concentrations with the incense sticks

Project Summary • DustTrak is widely used in cookstoves research to

collect data on PM2.5 emissions from cookstoves, however, it is calibrated for larger particles of different reflectance (Arizona road dust)

• Calibration against the gold standard,( gravimetric filter) is necessary.

• We used both unimodal smoke from sticks and broad particulate size emissions from BDS to compare DustTrak estimates against gravimetric analysis Found that a correction factor of between 0.3 and 0.4 is needed
