What are Industry Certifications?

• Growing number of states are now requiring industry certifications

• Potential funding for students passing• Federal Carl Perkins funding available• Provides students with a certificate for entry level• Help students determine areas of interest and

strength in Pre Engineering and Robotics• Developed over four years by teams of engineers

from local and internationally based corporations, physicists, HS teachers, and university professors

REC Foundation Certifications• Based on 150 hours of HS level coursework.• Designed to work with a school’s available resources for

the facility, teacher expertise and curricula• Two certifications –

• Pre-Engineering• Robotics

• Fundamentals of Engineering exam must be passed first for both certifications

• Certificates will be issued if the set criteria is met.• Proctors will have access to student’s progress and

certificates earned.

Pre-Engineering Certification

• Fundamentals of Engineering• Students choose “ANY” two of the following modules:

• Mechanical • Computer Science & Engineering (Programming)• Electrical• Chemical• Aerospace• Civil Engineering• Engineering Technology• Manufacturing Technology

Robotics Certification

• Fundamentals of Engineering• Mechanical• Computer Science & Engineering (Programming)• Electrical

Note: Students earn BOTH Certifications when completing Robotics Certification, as requirements exceed Pre-Engineering Certification.
