A huge thank you to the awesome volunteer group who made our “Pictures with Santa Paws” at Pet Nutrition and “Pictures with Santa” at Petco events a big success. There were over 60 photos taken in all and everyone had a wonderful time.

It took some awesome and dedicated volunteers to pull these events together so quickly. We thank Arlene Kahn for spearheading both events, Ilene Durkin (along with her sister and brother-in-law) for her incredibly awesome Santa living room setup, Jillane Ferreira for designing the advertisements, Diana Von Ronn for helping to set the events up

and spreading the word, Tommy Mancuso for being a hysterical Santa Paws, Annette Santrello and Taryn Raia Herbert - our super photographers, Rileigh and Olivia - our young elves, and our tabling team, Ellen Donovan, and Helene and Michelle Rusnock. And to Eric Goldman, thank you for handling all the picture printing.

Lastly a big thank you to Pet Nutrition Center in Nanuet and Petco of Nanuet for allowing us the opportunity to hold these fantastic events.

OUR DINING EVENTS ARE A BIG HIT IN ROCKLAND!Our recent dining events at The Turn, D’s bagels & brunch, Cinco de Mayo and The Dog House have been successful in that these vendors would all like to work with us again. All of the participating eateries were happy with the new faces that Rebuild brought to their establishments and the new business they were able to obtain. In the future, with the proper publicity of these events, Rebuild can continue to be an assett to these establishments in helping them to generate business, and in turn, helping Rebuild to raise funds.

At our Cinco de Mayo event, a check for $500 was left by a diner who was not able to attend the event but wanted to contribute – it is amazing generosity like this that gives us so much hope for the future of Hi-Tor. Our supporters are truly awesome and we are thankful for each and every one of you.

If you have a favorite restaurant that you think might be interested in hosting a special dining event with Rebuild Hi-Tor, please mention it to them on your next visit. Rebuild would help the restaurant to promote this ‘special day or night’ of dining, and hopefully bring a new customer base to their business. These events also help Rebuild, not only to raise funds, but to raise awareness about Hi-Tor, hand out brick paver forms, receive cash donations, and more.

Stay tuned for more information about the upcoming 2013 Shelter Challenge, where we could win a weekly or overall state grant. We’ll get ‘em next time! Thank you for your votes!

THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who placed buckets at the local businesses below:

AN EASY WAY TO VOLUNTEER AS A FAMILY:

** ADOPT-A-BUCKET **

request a “donation bucket” from hi-tor or just make your own! please contact volunteer@ rebuildhitor.org or visit our website for more info. collect the money from your bucket on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and send the check to hi-tor.

what a great and easy way to help rockland’s pets in need, while also supporting your local businesses!

Are you looking for a fun and easy way for your whole family to volunteer together? We are asking families to come together and “adopt buckets” at local businesses. It’s a great way for kids to get started in working for a cause – and it couldn’t be easier!

Just choose a favorite local business (or two!) where you’d like to place a bucket – then collect the money on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and write a check to Hi-Tor.

Kids will love getting involved and counting the money that they helped raise! What a terrific way to help the animals who need us now more than ever.
