WELCOME! Thank you for buying a Rear Diffuser Kit for the '05 to '09 Mustang. We appreciate your business, and we hope you enjoy your product. For your benefit, please read the following instructions completely and thoroughly before attempting to install a Rear Diffuser Kit. Many questions we have received from customers about the installation of our products could have been easily solved by information listed in this installation guide. We want you to enjoy the product in its fully functional state, and reading this tutorial is a great first step to getting you on your way to a more unique and attractive Mustang. TOOLS REQUIRED FOR KIT INSTALLATION:

• 5/32” allen wrench • 3/8” drill bit • 1/4” drive ratchet • drill motor • 1/4” drive 3” extension • tape measure • 7/16” socket (1/4” drive) • rivnut gun

NOTE: If you do not have any of the tools listed above, you may be able to obtain them from your local tool lending service.

REAR DIFFUSER INSTALLATION PROCEDURE: Installation Overview

• Assemble the rear diffuser by installing the support brackets • Drill mounting holes in the vehicle • Install rivnuts and rear diffuser

1. Use two nuts (Saleen p/n 00-9003-C06886*)/the 1-inch long bolts (00-9001-C14335*)/washers (00-9004-C00073*) to attach the driver side rear bracket to the diffuser. See Figure 1. (These same nuts, bolts, and washers will be used to attach all brackets to the diffuser.

• Torque nuts/bolts to 24 in-lbs

2. Use two nuts/bolts/washers to attach the driver side front bracket to the diffuser. See Figure 2.

• Torque nuts/bolts to 24 in-lbs

3. Use two nuts/bolts/washers to attach the passenger side rear bracket to the diffuser. See Figure 3.

• Torque nuts/bolts to 24 in-lbs 4. Use two nuts/bolts/washers to attach the passenger side front bracket to the diffuser. See Figure 4.

• Torque nuts/bolts to 24 in-lbs

5. Install the front center bracket(s). For Coupe Vehicles

• Use four nuts/bolts/washers to attach the front center bracket to the diffuser. See Figure 5.

• Torque nuts/bolts to 24 in-lbs For Convertible Vehicles

NOTE: Make sure the slot in the LH and RH brackets is towards the outside of the vehicle.

• Use four nuts/bolts/washers to attach the front RH and LH brackets to the diffuser. See Figure 6.

• Torque nuts/bolts to 24 in-lbs

Drill Mounting Holes In Vehicle NOTES:

• Step 1 below applies to both coupe and convertible vehicles.

1. Using the provided templates, drill a hole into the inside of each fender behind the rear wheels (see Figures 7 & 8). Locate the templates by placing them around the raised “finger” in the sheetmetal.

NOTE: Step 2 below applies to coupe vehicles ONLY.

3. At the spare tire well, drill a 3/8” hole at the location shown in Figure 9.

3. At the spare tire well, use a 3/8 “ drill bit to drill out the two existing holes (see Figure 10).

Install Rivnuts and Rear Diffuser

2. Install rivnuts (00-9006-C08604*) in two existing holes at the locations shown in Figures 12 and 13. NOTE: The rear bumper is shown removed for illustration purposes. You do not need to remove the rear bumper to perform this step.

Figure 12 Figure 13 4. Install the diffuser with the provided ¾-inch long bolts (00-9001-C12037*) & washers, making sure:

• the diffuser is correctly positioned

• all bolts are torqued to 24 in-lbs

Install rivnut in existing hole at driver’s side rear body panel

Install rivnut in existing hole at passenger side rear body panel

Use rivnut gun to install rivnuts

1. Using a rivnut gun install a 1/4-20 rivnut (provided in kit) in each hole that you drilled (see Figure 11).

• You should be able to obtain a rivnut gun from your local tool lending service.
