Each and every time students log onto Readorium they
embark on a customized science literacy journey.

all aspects of Readorium.
• Students grades 3 to 8 get
started by choosing a book off
the shelf.
• Students at any reading level
participates in sustained
reading activities that gives
them science literacy expertise.
Select a Book
Students choose their books by reading blurbs that hover over titles.
Teachers may lock or unlock any book(s) for individuals or entire class.

they read!
• Identifying the main idea and the
supporting details are emphasized.
• Graphic features are used to
provide support.
Readorium does not assume prior
knowledge.
All new content is explained in
detail.

meet the child’s learning needs.
• Readorium’s vocabulary and
complexity are automatically

providing personal help as

Responsibility Model.
• In the first demo chapter the
“mentor” introduces the
unique strategy utilized in the
book, reads the first few
paragraphs, and uses a "think
aloud“ to demonstrate
strategic thinking.

Students too often gloss over
the organizational features
about the Title Page and
Table of Contents.
• Students are taught to
examine these features and
specific content carefully by
answering the Lightning
Round questions.

students fill in missing words,
access interactive vocabulary
cards, answer lightning round
questions, and view pictures
during the demonstration.
• All topics are aligned to the
Next Generation Science
Standards and the Common
Core Standards.

• Instructional methods are

Sciences research.
• Students continue to read
independently and “mentor”
comes back if needed.

• Hint 2: The child is told what to reread.
• Hint 3/4: The child sees a video clip that explains the science concept and the answer is explained.

Students can check ratings in the Hall of Fame, use rewards to
play vocabulary games in Word Wizards World, test content
knowledge in Quiz Bowl or play games in the Game Garage.
