This CD-ROM contains Reservoir Stimulation and the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0. If you do not have Acrobat Reader 4.0 installed on your system, you will need to install it before installing Reservoir Stimulation. If you have an earlier version of Acrobat Reader installed on your system, you will need to upgrade to the latest version.

Upgrading Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0

If you are using an earlier version of Acrobat Reader you will need to upgrade to Acrobat Reader 4.0. We recommend you uninstall your current installation first and then install the current version from this CD-ROM.

To uninstall an earlier version, locate Settings | Control Panel from the Start button. Double- click on the Add/Remove Programs icon and select the entry that describes your current installation (i.e. Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0). Click on the Add/Remove button to start the un-installation. When the process has finished, we recommend that you restart your machine. You are now ready to install Acrobat Reader 4.0.

Existing installations of Acrobat Reader 4.0

If you already have an installation of Acrobat Reader 4.0, you will need to make sure that it has the Search plug-in. In order to check that the plug-in is installed, start Acrobat Reader and from the Menu bar select Help | About Plug-ins. If the option Acrobat Search is displayed, select it and make sure that it is Version 4.0. If it is not, or the option is not being displayed, it is likely that Acrobat Search is not installed. We recommend you un-install your current installation (as detailed above) and reinstall from the version on the CD-ROM.

Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0

Locate the Adobe directory on the CD-ROM using My Computer and double-click on the rs405eng.exe file. The Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 installation will now begin. You should now follow the instructions on screen. When the installation has finished, you may be advised to restart your computer. You should do this before proceeding with the Reservoir Stimulation installation.

Installing Reservoir Stimulation

Locate the Resstim directory on the CD-ROM using My Computer and double-click on the setup.exe file. You will now be shown a Copyright and Disclaimer statement. Please read the terms and conditions. If you do not agree with them, click on the No button and the installation will terminate. If you agree to them, click on the Yes button and the installation will continue. The installer will now detect if you have Acrobat Reader 4.0 installed on your system. You will be asked Do you wish to use this installation for Reservoir Stimulation? If you have just re/installed Acrobat Reader 4.0 from the CD-ROM or have determined that your current installation has the Search Plug-in, you should choose Yes.

Follow the remaining instructions on screen until the installation is complete.

You can exit the installation at any time by clicking on the Cancel button.

During the installation, a shortcut will have been created on your Desktop. To start Reservoir Stimulation, simply click on the shortcut.
