In order to get the best image on a monitor requires you to adjust it for your unique setting. Unfortunately, the manual controls available to tune the image often prove to be challenging. Proper adjustment (tuning) requires an easy to use program that goes through a step-by-step process to obtain the best overall picture quality. In most cases, even simple adjustments to Brightness or Contrast require navigation of the multi-level, on-screen display (OSD) menus that are not easy to understand. Furthermore, there is no feedback to assist in correctly setting the controls of the monitor. HP Display Assistant is a software utility that guides you through the tuning process with easy to understand instructions and background patterns designed for each monitor control. The display settings for each user can be saved, providing an easy way to select display characteristics in a multi-user environment, or having a single user have multiple defined presets based on content and ambient lighting.NOTE: HP Display Assistant scans the display to determine which features are supported. The list of supported features displayed in the application will vary based on model and input selected. Therefore, not all controls and feature described in this section may appear in the application.Basic functionality -HP Display Assistant is a software utility that allows monitor adjustment and color tuning using the Display Data Channel Command Interface (DDC/CI) protocol. All adjustments to the display are controlled via software to eliminate the need to use the monitor on-screen display (OSD).HP Display Assistant runs in the background and can be accessed through the task tray, start menu, or right click on the desktop. HP Display Assistant allows for quick accurate tuning of the display with the ability to easily save and use monitor configurations that are best suited for you.Wizard and OSD Modes -Wizard mode takes you through a step-by-step process to accurately calibrate the monitor. This method relies on a sequence of steps that will obtain the best display results when completed. Desktop Partition -Desktop Partition is a simple utility that organizes the display in predefined regions. Dragging the window to any region automatically aligns the window for better organization and less desktop clutter. Windows can be sent to any region across multiple displays with a simple mouse click.Desktop Partition can be accessed through HP Display Assistant, Task Tray, or the active window Title Bar.Note: For multiple displays, select the targeted display first through the multi-monitor pane.Managing Windows - Drag and Drop - Drag the window to any of the pre-configured partitions. When the window and cursor are located within the partition, the region will display an outline. Once the outline is displayed, release the window. The window will resize and align with the partition.Auto Send - Move the cursor into the title bar of the active window. Left click on the Desktop Partition icon. An icon will appear showing the configuration of the desktop. Move the cursor within the icon to the partition you want to move the window. Release the mouse and the window will be sent to the highlighted partition.Find Window - In some cases multiple windows will be in the same partition. Find Window will bring the select window to the foreground and make it active. To disable Desktop Partition, select Align Off.Tips and Troubleshooting -HP Customer Care Centers provide support for basic questions.
