LEADER WANTED FOR SMM’S ADVENT WREATH WORKSHOP

Looking to get your Christmas spirit on? We are in need of an interested person or

family to take over SMM’s Advent Wreath Making Workshop on Dec. 1st after the 9 & 11AM mass. Organizing this event would involve set up, putting together bags with accessories for those who grab & go, check in, distribution of wreathes and pieces, overseeing light refreshments & crafts for the children and clean up. BIRTHRIGHT’S ANNUAL BOTTLES FOR BABIES FUNDRAISER

Throughout October, Respect Life month, Birthright of DE will host its Annual Bottles

for Babies Fundraiser. The weekends of October, there will be baby bottles at all exits. We ask you to take one home, read the insert (fill it out if you choose to do so for Tax credit), & fill the bottle with loose change, cash or a check! Please return all bottles on or before the weekend indicated.

Join us for Mass, veneration with the relic, the St. John Neumann Novena, a tour of the shrine, fellowship during lunch, and joy on the journey with friends new and old.

12th ANNUAL FRIENDS OF THE POOR WALK

Saturday, Oct. 19th, Concord Mall 4737 Concord Pike, Wilmington

Where & When: Enter via the back entrance behind the Mall to register at 8:30AM. The walk will take place inside the Concord Mall between 9 -

10AM. Walking the main path plus the side paths is equal to a half mile. The St. Patrick/St. Mary’s conference is sponsoring

the city of Wilmington Friends of the Poor walk. Please join us & collect donations for SMM’s St Vincent de Paul Society.

On Sunday, November 10th at 2PM, St. Mary Magdalen Parish will host a first class relic of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, known to many as Padre Pio through the National Center for Padre Pio in Barto, PA. After a presentation in the morning for the religious education families, the parish will hold a service in the afternoon open to all who would like to come. 2PM – Service begins; Jeanne Kaye from the Sodality will lead the rosary. 2:30PM – Jeff Daley from the National Center of Padre Pio will lead us in the prayers of Padre Pio, then give a short presentation on relics 2:45PM – Veneration of the Relic – Knights of Columbus will stand guard

During Veneration Jeff will be available in the vestibule to answer questions. He will also have items from the

Center available for purchase or donation.

Any scout who is interested in earning their Catholic religious award, should contact the Diocese of Wilmington’s Catholic Committee

on Scouting. Our committee can help get the process started and will supply the award, once earned. Each year the Bishop will present the awards to the scouts of our Diocese at our annual Scout Mass.
