Assumed knowledge: + Ss have studied how to scan a reading text to find specific information and guess meaning in the context + Ss have already known about some new words related to the topic 5. Anticipated problems: + There may be time left (solution: The teacher has already prepared

extra reading exercise for Ss.)

+ There is lack of time (solution: Cut down the activity).

+ Some Ss may not have a wide range of vocabulary, or students do not

know the new words (solution: teacher can give some suggestions to help them elicit the words).

10m Pre -Set the scene: Our school is going to hold a contest to find information of The Asian Games. Each class will have to choose one student to take part in. Let choose one your class’s representative

Before choosing the best representative, we will study our lesson today to help you broaden your knowledge of Asian Games. It will be a very useful source of information for you in the contest

answer“Now, I would like to divide class into 2 groups to play a games. Each group will take turn to answer. There are 8 questions hidden behind 8 pictures, each group will choose the picture you like and answer the question. For each correct answer, you get 10 points. The maximum time for each question is 1 minute. If you don’t have or have wrong answers, you lose your turn and the chance moves to other group.Be careful that 1 picture will bonus you 10 points, one will take you 10 points and one will take your turn away”Tips: scan the text as quick as possible to find the answer
