StylingPlaces where my readers shop, as they are very rock inclined and dress quite unconventionally and stylish much like the artists in my magazine. Fashion is quite a prominent feature of my magazine and so this is important to know. After doing the research I discovered that my readers favourite shop is Topman/Topshop as this is where they are styled.

Favourite BandsMy male and female both have different tastes for their favourite band, the male likes Green Day whilst the female likes Paramore.

TelevisionTelevision is a massive part of the younger generation’s culture

and since these are the age I am trying to attract; obviously I need to research into what they are watching (excludes music). My results on my survey showed that my readers prefer teen

dramas such as Skins and but also like comedy programs, much like the Inbetweeners.

Analysis

After looking at all of these bands, clothes and TV programs I have incorporated the various

styles and features that gives representation to the rock genre. These include the styles from

Topman/Topshop, the clothes that the characters in Skins wear and the features of

bands like Paramore and Green day, all this was used in my magazine to really help me to draw

in my audience.

“Project Phoenix”Bauer Media Company created a way at looking at music through its own unique way called “Project phoenix.” This research project revealed that music is still considered the most popular interest or hobby, coming first before books or films. This tells me that there is a niche in the market still for music magazines.Research proved that people like to mix and match their tastes in music and this can be incorporated within my magazine.

“Project Phoenix”Bauer Media’s Project Phoenix divided music listeners into four categories:

• Background Listeners 39% • The Headliners 20%• Track Hunters 24%• Pace-setters 17%

My magazine is aimed at pace setters since these are the people who are the most obsessed with

music, and see a lot of live music. These are music enthusiasts and buy albums over singles.
