"Becoming People of Prayer and Discipleship." (580) 338-3553 www.guymonnazarene.org www.guymonfourtwelve.com I'm grateful for the saving, healing, and delivering power of God in our midst. At our most recent Concert of Prayer on March 10, someone vowed to give up smoking. He and his family had been praying about it for a long time, and he believed that night was the right time. He has been smokefree for almost three weeks now, and testifies to the power of the Holy Spirit making it easy for him. Isn't that great? What a mighty God we serve! He still works miracles and acts daily on behalf of each of us. It was wonderful to see our prayers answered as the dramatic presentation of Who Is He? closed with extended times of prayer around the altars in both services. That is why we sing, preach, share the Word and meet together; So lives will be changed as we grow in grace together. My prayer is that we remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit in our services, and that He takes continues to change lives in extraordinary ways. Praise His name! Pastor Angela I pray that our students rise up as leaders and set the path for others in their relationships with the Lord. My vision and goals for our youth are listed below. Would you join me in praying about these? Youth Leaders: We currently have a great youth leader staff that helps me minister on Wednesday nights to our youth but I am praying for more youth leaders on Wednesday nights. Pray for more youth leaders. Youth Sunday School: Currently we have two classes. I teach the 7th9th grade boys and girls and Mark Aubrey teaches the 10th12th grade boys and girls. My goal this year is to have 3 Sunday School classes. I would teach the 7th9th grade boys, Mark would teach the 10th12th grade boys and have a 7th12th grade girls class, which would eventually become two classes: a 7 th 9 th grade girls class and a 10 th 12 th girls class. Pray for more Sunday School teachers. Emmaus Groups: Currently we have 7 Emmaus groups. These leaders are meeting with their groups weekly and God is doing great things in these groups. My prayer is that we have more Emmaus groups. Pray for more Emmaus leaders. Youth Discipleship Group: We have a Youth Discipleship from that meets on Sunday nights from 5:006:00pm in the youth room. We look at Scripture and pray together. Pray that this group continues to strengthen student’s relationship with the Lord through discipleship. Praise the Lord for teenagers! They are the future of the church! Would you join me in these prayer requests for our youth group? Grace and Peace, Pastor Matt Pastor’s thoughts: Friends following Jesus. We are learning as a people what it means to be Christlike Disciples. We are learning how to pray and we are seeing people healed and set free i n Jesus name. We are traveling this journey together. We are in the midst of the trip. We are seeking and finding the presence of Jesus when we seek Him with all our heart. What a blessing to see the freedom and power of God work during the Palm Sunday musical “Who is He?” God has more in store for us as we press in towards Him. Sunday School classes, Emmaus groups, Life Groups are seeking and finding Jesus and knowing each other in discipleship. It is Friends following Jesus. Together. I have been blessed to see following Jesus together is not a short term thing. This month I have witnessed friends dovoted to Jesus and each other for over 50 YEARS never waver or falter in their love and devotion for Jesus and each other. I invite you to join us in April for “Friends Following Jesus” series in the morning services. We are marching to Zion and singing as we go. Leave the world behind and let’s follow Jesus wherever He leads. Anticipating, Pastor Wayne April 2013 The challenge was issued about 4 weeks ago for the church to bring candy and eggs to the church so that we could have an egg hunt. You brought over 5,000 eggs filled with candy. The Egg hunt at Guymon Nazarene that started on Saturday at 10:00 actually started weeks earlier as you began praying over the invitation cards and praying about who God would have you invite and also as you began to bring eggs to the church. You were asked to pray over these eggs as you placed them in the basket. Many of you were even praying during the egg hunt. Many of you met at 9:00 and spread out over the church and prayed for those who would fill the sanctuary in just about one hour. The egg hunt was covered in prayer long before the eggs were even hidden. As people filled the sanctuary many came searching for candy that has temporary sweetness. As we celebrated His resurrection Jesus’ sweetness was poured out as a sweetness that will outlast any piece of candy. Not only did we give them an egg hunt, but first we shared the gospel with them as we shared in the celebration of His resurrection. Songs were sang, God was glorified and scripture was shared. We shared Luke 24:1334 with all who came. Thank you Jesus. I know of specifically one woman who left encouraged and heart was blessed with the celebration that took place on Saturday. Thank you Jesus for this opportunity and thank you church for first committing to pray and secondly for helping make the egg hunt possible. Pastor Steve It is exciting to witness God already blessing our Work and Witness team. The team now has 17 members. The Children's Bible Quiz Team has hadanother successful season, holding our 1st placetitle for the ninth consecutive quiz!

This year we have been studying the book ofActs. We have 15 quizzers that range from2nd-‐6th grade. Do you know who wrote the

book of Acts? Do you know what the Pharisees believed that theSadducees did not? Do you know whether Paul was a Pharisee or aSadducee? What do you know about Candace, Cornelius, SergiusPaulus,Elymas,Rhoda, Lydia, Jason,Apollos,Demetrius,orFelix? Thequizzers have been learning information like this andmuchmore thisseason!

So far, we have traveled to Guthrie, Bethany, Stillwater, andWoodward. On a quiz weekend, we usually leave after schooltraveling toourquizdestination, arriving lateatnight, andsleepingonthe floor of our host church. We have some tough Panhandle kids! They consistently bring home top honors despite being road weary, having very little sleep and usually way too much junk food!

At our quiz inWoodward, the quizzers were able to earn a trophyfor learning twenty memory verses. In order to qualify they have toknow all twenty verses and quote them to us word for word. At thecompetition, they draw three references from the twenty and quotethem to the judge. Every "a," "an," and "the" has to beword forwordperfect. We had 10 quizzers earn their trophy!

Also at Woodward, our graduating 6th graders were recognizedfor their yearsof studying theBible. Wehave fivegraduatingquizzersthis year! Everyone of our 6th graders had parents at the quiz. Wehave such supportive parents!

Our next quizwill be in Choctawwherewewill individually qualifyfor the World Quiz in Indianapolis this June. World Quiz takes placeevery four years, so for some quizzers this is their only chance toqualify for World.

Did you know too that Pastor Steve now serves on our DistrictQuizzing Board? Thank you Pastor Steve for all you do for Children'sQuizzing!

If you'd like to seemore of what we do in Children's Quizzing walkdownourhallwaysometimeand lookaroundour room. Wehave lotsof pictures from our season this year. You might even see somemustaches!

Wehavea lotof fun inquizzingand learna lotof facts, butourhopeas quiz leaders is that our quizzers are "hiding God's Word in theirhearts." Thank you for supporting Children's Quizzing!
