simpleLook at the word. I know that le and the consonant before it form the last syllable of the word. Therefore, the last syllable in s-i-m-p-l-e is ple. That is pronounced /pӘ l/. This leaves s-i-m, which is pronounced /sim/. When I put the two word parts together, I get the word simple.
