What could possibly account for such ahuge proportion of lost opportunities inyour marketing efforts?

When surveyed, non-attendees offer avariety of reasons for not showing up to theevent.

The primary explanation for not attending awebinar is an unforeseen conflict. This canbe anything from a business meeting thatgets scheduled after they register, to a lastminute crisis at the office, to a telephonecall that runs long.

As more companies schedule webinars onthe most popular weekdays and times, prospects are sometimes forced to choosewhich event they will attend.

Some people simply forget. Even if they doremember before your event is over, theyoften decide that it’s not worth attending ifthey don’t see your presentation from thebeginning.

A certain percentage try to attend and giveup because of technical difficulties orfrustrations. They may not want to or beable to install the viewer technology ontheir computer. They may not trustconfusing confirmation messages such asauthorizing Active/X controls.

And some of your registrants simplychange their mind about the benefit ofdevoting a solid hour of their work day tolisten to a long presentation when theyknow that only a portion of the informationwill directly address their requirements andinterests.

How do you overcome these problems andget your message to more of youraudience? The answer is not difficult.

• Let your respondents access yourinformation on their schedule ratherthan yours.

• Create a range of short content piecesthat address one topic at a time.

• And make it easy to view your contentwithout technical barriers.
