The Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort 2014 collection draws on inspiration from the strong, independent women that comprised the group “The Mercury 13”- a program developed by NASA to send the first group of women into space in the fifties. The launch never came to fruition, but the spirit of these women lives on. The collection is strong and bold, yet also has moments of ethereal shimmer and weightlessness.

INSPIRATION

The Marc By Marc Jacobs Resort 2014 collection draws on inspiration from the strong, independent women that comprised the group “The Mercury 13”- a program developed by NASA to send the first group of women into space in the fifties. The launch never came to fruition, but the spirit of these women lives on. The collection is strong and bold, yet also has moments of ethereal shimmer and weightlessness. The window scheme for this season creates a highly versatile, modular display opportunity for many different phases and presentation of different product inclusive of RTW, ACC, shoes, and even a dedicated display showcasing the fantastic novel new denim pieces. Men’s mannequins can also be integrated in a strong and seamless manner.

WINDOW CONCEPT

- Small Frame unit (with removable mirror piece for Phase 2/December “Holiday”) - Medium Frame unit (with removable mirror piece for Phase 2/December “Holiday”) - Large Frame unit (with removable mirror piece for Phase 2/December “Holiday”)

- Please refer to following pages on which frame you should employ based on window size - All frames have the same height (85.5”) which should accomodate all windows - One mannequin may stand inside the frame unit, as you will see in renderings - Other mannequins may be positioned outside and around frame unit, space permitting - Units will be shipped as individual poles, with detailed instructions for assembly in store - No hanging support necessary

- This installation should occur from November 1-10 and will run through 1st of February with a refresh middle of December (addition of mirror piece) - Utilize November/December/January key product messages (RTW, Handbags, shoes) in the display-Change window product and mannequins every two weeks

WINDOW MERCHANDISING GUIDELINE

-Window unit should be installed with blue shelving facing forward

-While merchandising the shelving unit, please keep the display as clean as pos-sible. Merchandise one style per shelf. Only utilize one color story throughout the shelving unit.

- Ensure all handbags placed on shelves fit the space and are properly stuffed- supported but not too full

- Strong RTW looks matching back to accessories (refer to floor styling looks)

-A second mannequin can be placed to the left of the shelving unit. Please refer to the floor styling look guidelines for mannequin pairings and styling.

DECEMBER | D2HOLIDAY REFRESH- December will feature the mirror piece and “holiday tree” shelves as an add-on to display holiday gifting SLGs

- Going back to one of the inspiration pictures, the shelves and mirror convey a holiday spirit with the use of SLGs and Tech in the shape of a tree, which is relfected in the mir-ror

-While installing the refresh unit, situate the window unit so that the refresh unit is facing forward

-Merchandise the refresh unit with Gift Giving SLGs and Tech from the December deivery.

-Keep a cohesive color story

-Designate one style per shelf displayed the same way across the shelf.

-Wallets can be displayed vertically, horizontally, or unzipped and opened (see below)

-SLG pouches can be displayed flat on the bottom shelf

-See next page on how to merchandise handbags on the blue shelf unit on the re-verse side of the fixture

DENIM- There is an option to display denim on the Resort window fixture at any time during the season.

-The window unit comes supplied with hooks to hang denim.

-Display three (3) pairs of hanging denim by folding in half and hanging on the pro-vided hooks by back belt loops

-Also display denim folded on the blue shelving unit. Fold denim in quarters, facing forward. Be sure to tuck in any tags.

DENIM-If there is not an abundance of denim, place a handbag on the top and bottom shelves with denim folded in the middle two shelves, with leather backpacks hanging instead of denim.
