RE: The TRUTH about LEED Certi�ed Ice Melt____________________________________________________________________________

XYNYTH Manufacturing Corp. produces several ECO friendly ice melting products that meet or exceed the LEED Standards. Those products are:

- Winter Warrior Enviro LEADer ™ - Winter Warrior CMA ™ - Winter Warrior Runway Control ™

It is important to know that LEED does not certify or endorse any products, but rather sets the standards for what the ice melter may contain.

LEED requires that one of two options are followed:

Option 1:Only use de-icers that contain 100% calcium magnesium acetate (CMA).

Or

Option 2:Demonstrate that environmentally preferred de-icers were used at least 20% of the time during the performance period, measured by weight, volume, or cost. Environmentally preferred de-icers are de�ned as those that contain less than 5% sodium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, potassium acetate, ammonia-based products, and ferrocyanide products.

Beware of some manufacturers misleading the public by claiming their salt based products meet LEED Standard. This simply is not true. While some products may be considered gentle on the environment, they must meet Option 1 or 2 above to qualify for LEED credits. Knowing what is in the ice melt you are using is critical to knowing if it meets the LEED standards.
