Teacher CPD During
Coronavirus Pandemic
During this time we have obviously had to cancel all of the planned
CPD and support (including the Westhill Subject Knowledge session on Judaism at the Birmingham Progressive Synagogue) for the rest of this academic year. We will make decisions on whether to release the planned CPD as a Powerpoint presentation and resources or to reschedule for 2020-2021 once we know more. A CPD plan for next academic year will be released when the situation becomes clearer.
In the meantime, please visit the Warwickshire SACRE website, where you will
find all previous CPD presentations and resources. Now is a good chance to catch
up on anything you may have missed.
SACRE Videos
We are hoping to be able to share some videos made by our SACRE members
during the period of lockdown whilst schools are closed. These will focus on
upcoming religious festivals. These will be emailed out to schools and can be used
for home learning or with pupils still in school.
SACRE Website
Please remember the Warwickshire SACRE site is the place where both Coventry
and Warwickshire schools can access the Coventry and Warwickshire Agreed
Syllabus and additional units of work:
https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/sacreresources
There are now ‘Do and Don’t’ documents for each of the major religions plus
Humanism in section 6, ‘Useful Resources’, on the SACRE website:
A Reminder re the Coventry and Warwickshire
Agreed Syllabus:
A licence was purchased by both local authorities to use an RE syllabus from RE
Today, which allows is accessed by schools via a password protected place on the
SACRE website. Please can we remind schools that they should not be making the
syllabus available to the public and it should not be shared in its entirety on your
school website. Thank you.
