STATE DESIGNATED AGENCY (SDA)• UPNEDA has been nominated as State Designated Agency
(SDA) under Energy Conservation ACT-2001 w.e.f. July 2015• UPNEDA is Preparing an action Plan of Energy Efficiency
measures in the state. Potential of saving 10 to 15 % i.e 15450MU of annual consumption of 1,03,000 MU or saving willresult 1763 MW of avoidable capacity.
Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) This scheme is being implemented under NMEEE-2008 Specific Energy Consumption (SEC) is defined for different industrial
sector and they are known as Designated Consumers (DCs) DCs have been given a target for reduction in SEC If they save more than the target, they get Escerts which can be traded. 27 DCs are registered in UP under PAT Scheme Cross Verification is being done by BEE and SDA.
DSM Demand side Management: Municipal DSM through replacement with
energy efficient street lights. Agriculture Sector DSM through replacement with energy efficient
(star rated) pumps. Energy efficiency in buildings by improving the power factor (PF)
through APFC panel and by replacing the lights with energy efficientlights.
ECBC Energy Certified Building Code(ECBC) codes are to be notified very
soon. First ECBC cell has been established at UPNEDA head
office, Lucknow New and existing buildings are to be identified and ECBC compliance
