The Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre will provide support to one school to host the winter festival bringing students and staff from high school and middle years which will offer cultural and land-based activities for students and staff. The three-day event involves cooperative games designed to challenge the skills embedded within land-based education. The selected school for the proposed gathering are recommended to be held the last week of February or first week of March. MFNERC will provide costs such as promotional materials, schools/student transportation subsidy, daily meals/catering, Elder honoraria, equipment and supplies for cultural games and some in-kind contribution to the selected host school. The First Nation School is requested to submit a proposal by including the following information: • Tentative 3- day schedule of land-based program of activities • Accommodations availability for students and bus drivers • Security information • Medical information • Catering information • Evening activities Please fax (204-942-2490) or email ([email protected]) your proposal by December 18, 2019.
