NAAC Self Study Report 2015
3. The Context
Two class rooms in the institution have been converted into smart class
rooms with interactive boards and RF internet connectivity. This act was the
need of time to use advanced teaching aids to make teaching and learning
process more effective. The effort was appreciated and students were eager to
get used to this advanced method of teaching. A training session was arranged
for teachers to get used to this advanced technology. Because some of them
were not accustomed using new teaching aids, it was getting difficult for them
to get used to this activity. But with the extra efforts from their side they started
using interactive board and internet in the smart class effectively. It was getting
easy for them day by day. What was important in all this activity was the
student strength in the class rooms increased as this was new for them and the
impact of lecture was more. Internet has provided them the teaching material as
per their requirement.
4. The Practice:
Our teachers are used to the conventional way of teaching and learning method.

learning. Established of smart class room was a new event for the teaching
faculty. But has created an interest in our teachers to use this new technology of
teaching and learning process. Training sessions were organized on the regular
basis for the teachers. Use of internet while using smart interactive board was
also practiced. The act has become interesting and teachers were happy to use.
There after whenever there is academic need as per the syllabus, teachers started
using smart class room effectively. The preparation and dedication to deliver a
lecture in smart class was notable from every teacher. Principal has supported
this activity with free hand. Students the important stakeholders are happy
getting this new teaching method. This was new and attractive. They made their
teachers to get involved in this type of activity more. For, they get new and
relevant study material from internet. Some of the teachers saved their lectures
in so that they can use the study material on the regular basis. This has become a
healthy practice of teaching in our institute now.
5. Evidence of success:
After establishment of two smart class rooms, one of this is also a virtual class
room, there is a sufficient number of increases in student strength in the class
rooms. The efficiency of teacher has been increased. They have adjusted them
well with this new technology of teaching and learning process. A vast study
material is available in internet and hence teachers use internet to make their
lecture more effective and productive. Moreover, students are interested in
taking lectures in smart class rooms. The use of advance teaching and learning
aids are helpful to student as well as teachers. It is necessary for the

POST ACCREDITATION INITIATIVES
The NAAC peer team has visited this college in 2007 and provided B grade
to our college. We were very pleased to get the grade as our college is in the
backward area of the state and covers mostly the rural belt.
The suggestions were given by the peer tea after visiting. They have asked
us to use the area of 10 acre in a good way. However, we got 04 acres more
land from the government after that. We have constructed a 50-seaded girls
hostel with the financial assistance from UGC under XI plan to facilitate the
girls student in this region.
New useful courses have been started in the college in the last four years.
The courses are M.Sc. Computer Science, BBA, and BCA, though the

the curriculum and assess their own performance. Slow learners were
specifically treated in the remedial classes to remove their weaknesses.
There is a provision for revision classes before the commencement of
semester examinations.
