Not available where there is an alternative suitable programme offered by ECITB. Available for training employees of ECITB in-scope companies. Preferably used for multi-comp any courses, dem onstrat ing deman d across the region. Used for course fees only; not travel or accommodation (except where accommodation is required by all attendees as an integral part of a custom-designed course). Training must be completed and the invoice received by ECITB no later than  Ad mi ni st rat io n 8 weeks after the t raining h as been carried out All invoices . For training t hat is due to take place toward t he end of t he year, we require all invoices to be submitted on or before 20 th December 2013. must include the RDG Reference number and should be sent to  [email protected]  or Processing, Blue Court , Church Lane , Kings Langley WD4 8J P. RDG will be paid to the requestin g company on production of confirmat ion that th e training has taken place – this may be an attendance record form the provider or a certificate of completion. We also require a company proforma invoice supported by a paid invoice from the training provider, and excluding VAT – ECITB will not pay fees directly. Approved and invoiced in UK pounds only. Where ECITB pays for a whole course, and the company or provider allows additional out-of-scope company staff  to attend on a commercial basis, then ECITB will expect to negotiate to receive a proportion of the commercial fees taken. Bearing in mind that all in-scope companies have full access to the range of ECITB products and grants, and RDG is additional to these, no company may request m ore from t he RDG than they have paid in levy. (For companies that pay no levy, RDG grant requests totalling n o more th an £1000 w ill be agreed). To encourage compan ies to join toget her t o share training initiatives, the amount of a joint request will not count towards the individual company requests. Regional Discretionary Grant 2013 GuidelinesScotland Region

 The RDG is a fund of monies that can be used within the region to help companies with the cost of various types of training that the ECITB do not offer products and services for and which are not mandatory training. All applications formonies from the fund are considered by the ECITB Regional Account Manager and the Regional Chair and allocatedwhere appropriate.

Introduction

 The purpose of this document is to form a basis for discussion of some of the principles that will be used in determiningwhich projects to fund, although this is simply guidelines and does not limit their discretion.

 To make the fund go further, it is proposed that the level of support for different course topics will be prioritised as follows:Priorities 

60% Engineering technical courses50% Health/Safety, Quality, audit50% Top-up skills – Crane operations, lifting, confined spaces, COMPEX30% IT, soft skills, administration, Fork Lift Truck Drivers0% Mandatory training – Safety Passport, First Aid, etc
