    Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz Senior Independent Non-Executive Chairman AirAsia X Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz is one of ASEAN’s most respected and well-known individuals. She is Malaysia’s longest serving Minister of International Trade and Industry, having been in the position for 21 years from 1987 – 2008. Tan Sri Rafidah is considered an authority on global trade. She received the prestigious ASEAN Business Advisory Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding leadership, passion and commitment and her key role in progressing the vision of ASEAN in areas relating to economic growth, social progress and sociocultural evolution. Tan Sri Rafidah played an instrumental role in opening up Malaysia to foreign investment, reducing trade barriers by tackling tough trade negotiations, introducing free trade agreements, advancement towards economic cooperation between the Southeast Asian countries, and economic development such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation. She is currently the Senior Independent Non-Executive Chairman of AirAsia X.

    Joey Ma “Joey” Concepcion II I Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship, Founder GoNegosyo, Chair ASEAN BAC Philippines Jose Ma. Concepcion is the president and chief executive of listed food and beverage company RFM Corp. He is also a director of Concepcion Industrial, a conglomerate with interests in appliances, property, insurance and cargo-handling services. Established in 1962 by Jose's grandfather, Concepcion Industrial claims more than a third of the Philippines' air-conditioning market. Joey founded Go Negosyo, a non-profit organisation that aims to address poverty in the Philippines by encouraging entrepreneurship. Joey is the Presidential Adviser for Entrepeneurship and founder of the ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurship Network (AMEN). AMEN has been recognized as a flagship initiative across by the ASEAN Secretariat. He received a Padma Shri award, the highest civilian honours given by India, for his work in trade and industry, in 2018.

    Gavin Vongkusolkit Founder & Managing Director Glowfish Co-working Community; Chair ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council

    Gavin started a family-funded real estate company in 2008 to purchase an office property from his grandfather to pave way for his retirement. A deep believer in the power of creativity and connectivity, he transformed this otherwise straightforward office business into Glowfish, one of Thailand’s very first and largest co-working spaces for entrepreneurs. He helped the Thai Chamber of Commerce found the Young Entrepreneurs Chamber (YEC), and is the current chairman of the ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council. Along with his main pursuits, Gavin owns and runs Kuppadeli cafés and Odtomato restaurant with his mother, sharing their mutual passion in the coffee and food business, as well as Ad Lib hotel. Gavin is also a director of The Erawan Group Plc (Thailand’s leading hotel investment company), and helps his family company, Mitr Phol (Asia’s biggest sugar and bio-energy producer), on special projects on food and agricultural innovation.

  • Dr Jessica Gallagher Director, Global Engagement and Entrepreneurship, The University of Queensland (UQ) Dr Jessica Gallagher is responsible for the continued development and implementation of the University’s Global Strategy. She leads a number of key international partnership activities, business development initiatives, strategic engagement events and a wide range of global programs designed to showcase and extend the University’s reputation and reach. Dr Gallagher also leads the development and delivery the Entrepreneurship Strategy, including high level oversight of UQ Ventures programs, broadening the suite of student entrepreneurship activities and expanding links with local, national and international entrepreneurship ecosystems. Dr Gallagher is a research affiliate and sessional lecturer in UQ’s School of Languages and Cultures. She holds a PhD in Comparative Cultural Studies from UQ and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is also a non-executive director of Scope Global, a specialist project management company delivering international development and international education programs throughout Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

    Matthew Costel lo Managing Director Asia Pacific Greensill Matthew is responsible for originating structured capital solutions for Greensill clients in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Greensill, Matthew had a career in corporate advisory and investment banking, before holding various roles at board and C level for various ASX listed companies. Matthew holds a Masters of Finance and MBA from one of Asia’s leading business schools and has founded and exited businesses in Australia and the US.

    Eleanor Mak President, Australia-ASEAN Business Council, Managing Director, Venturenauts Eleanor Mak is a strong advocate for deeper engagement between Australia and ASEAN, which she believes is critical to regional growth. Under her leadership, the Australia-ASEAN Business Council (AABC) has established regional relationships and collaborations with key ASEAN business and entrepreneur organisations and launched a number of ‘Australia-ASEAN first’ initiatives. Eleanor’s focus for the AABC is to strengthen direct 2-way engagement between Australian and ASEAN business, entrepreneurs and academia to capitalise on business, trade, investment and innovation opportunities for mutual benefit across the region. Eleanor has held senior positions in business and government with successful careers in commercial/corporate law, professional consulting and policy reform across the region. She has helped ASEAN countries design and implement good regulatory practice frameworks, led economic diplomacy capability training for Australian Government and worked with Australian and ASEAN companies on successful market entry and expansion strategies.

  • Raja Singham Co-founder & Managing Director BAC Education Group Raja Singham is an educator, entrepreneur and a founding member of a range of companies specialising in education, corporate training, advertising, publications and IT development. He founded Brickfields Asia College (BAC) in 1991 at the age of 24 which grew to become the largest law school in Malaysia. Raja was Education Man of the Year by the Brand Laureate for his significant contribution to the education sector, and received the National Outstanding Educator Award in 2015. Raja is Malaysia’s representative on the ASEAN Business Advisory Council and is the Lead Mentor of the ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network (AMEN) in Malaysia. He was named a Circle Expert for TN50 (Transformasi National 2050) on Work and Value Creation which looked at the future of jobs, skills and careers to prepare the Malaysian education system and workforce for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. A well-known philanthropist whose personal mission is to transform a million lives through education, Raja now spends most of his time supporting both Malaysian and international causes under the Make It Right Movement (MIRM) umbrella.

    Leanne Kemp Queensland Chief Entrepreneur; CEO Everledger Leanne Kemp is a prominent figure in the technology sector and recognised internationally as an innovator and leader. Her company Everledger uses Blockchain technology to track high-value assets such as diamonds, art and wine with the aim of increasing transparency and trust with technology. In 2018, her entrepreneurial success saw her appointed as the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur in Australia, to develop the state’s startup ecosystem, attract investment and support job creation. She is the first woman entrepreneur to hold this position. In 2019 her tenure as Chief Entrepreneur was extended for another year, the first time the role has been extended since its creation. Leanne works on a global scale to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation and is an advocate of sustainability in business. Leanne is a two times Patent Inventor and holds prominent awards including Advancing Identification Matter Global Allan Gilligan Award 2019, Advance Technology Innovation Award 2018 and Innovator of the Year 2018 (Women in IT Awards, London), Top 30 Female Innovators (Brummell Magazine).

 Managing Director Venturenauts Peter is co-founder and Managing Director of Venturenauts (www.venturenauts.com), an Australian consultancy company focused on international business development, specialising in ASEAN.
