PS10’s Got Talent Rules

1. All acts, artwork, costumes and content should be appropriate for an elementary school setting. If the lyrics, dancing, clothing, etc. are not appropriate, the act will not go beyond the audition.

2. Due to time constraints, students may participate in only one category—either a solo performance, a group performance or showcase artwork. 4th graders may choose instead to be a stagehand. 5th graders may choose instead to be an emcee or a stagehand. All acts must be 3 minutes or less. *Group acts and acts under 3 minutes are encouraged so we can include as many students as possible.

3. Performers are required to attend one audition and their designated dress rehearsal to be included in the final

show. The act you audition with must be the same as the act you perform at the dress rehearsal and final show. No late auditions and no exceptions. 4th & 5th grade Stage Crew and 5th grade Emcees are required to attend both dress rehearsals.

4. Students are strongly encouraged to choose unique songs to perform so as not to have several renditions of

the most popular songs. Song lyrics/poetry/scripts/jokes etc. must be submitted for review by the time of their audition—either at the audition or emailed beforehand to [email protected].

5. PS10’s Got Talent can provide the following for auditions, dress rehearsals and show: piano, keyboard, drum

kit, microphones, music stands, chair, small table and tumbling mats. All other instruments/ props/ costumes needed for the act must be brought by the performer to the audition, dress rehearsal and show. We are not able to store your items, so please make sure to bring them to each date. And please label everything with your name! (The committee and volunteers are not responsible for items that go missing).

6. No “lip sync” routines will be allowed. If singing, accompanying music must not have lead vocals. (For

example, if singing a Katy Perry song, Katy Perry’s voice should not be heard.) Karaoke/instrumental tracks are available online for most songs. Students must provide a copy of their music at the auditions either on CD or able to be copied onto a laptop.

7. Artwork will be hung by binder clips. If you prefer not to have your piece hung directly by binder clips, please

mount it in a way that allows room at the top for hanging. Artwork will be returned after the event so please label it with your name and class number.
