This procedure is required in order to allow older (pre-AISG 2.0) RCUs to be switched to AISG 2.0/3GPP mode. Before you start, please call the support line at 214 238-8812 in order to obtain the proper firmware files, 86010025_BL02-02-30.bin and 86010025_86010118_FW02-02-30.bin. Save those files to your computer.

Go to the Details page of the RCU that needs to be upgraded to check the current version level of the firmware. The

obvious indication that the current firmware is out of date is the lack of an asterisk * to the right of the Sector ID field

(the empty red box). The version numbers shown also indicate that the RCU is not currently able to be switched to

3GPP, because it is not in the 02-02-XX range.

Click the Software Update button to continue.

Next, click the AISG Update Details button.

Use the Browse button to locate the files that were saved earlier.

Select the file as shown below. It MUST be the 86010025_BL02-02-30.bin file. Click Open.

Select the RCU you wish to update-in a typical system, all of the RCUs will be in this list. Click the Start Download…

button.

You will see a progress bar in the Download Status box. This takes several minutes, so be patient.

Upon completion, you will see 100% in that box.

The screen will refresh and you will see an ERROR, which simply means you are not finished downloading.

Continue by returning to the Software Update page. Once again, browse to the file location.

Select the 86010025_86010118_FW02-02-30.bin file. Click Open.

Once again, select the RCU you are working on and click Start Download…

The same slow progress bar will appear.

When it is finished, you will see a Status of OK, indicating that the firmware was successfully updated.

Return to the Details page to confirm the new firmware version level. Note that the asterisk * is now present. Click on

the aterisk to go to the Device Protocol Version page.

Click the pulldown menu and select 3GPP.

Click Set Mode to switch the RCU to 3GPP mode.

Return to the Details page to confirm that the RCU is now operating in the correct mode.

Repeat this process for all RCUs that need to be converted. Note that nothing else changes.
