Conference 1999 We have started to plan next year‘s conference which will be held on Thursday 7thEriday 8th October 1999. The likely venue will be Bath or Bristol, and the provisional title ‘Who’s in Control?’. This conference will appeal to nurses of all disci- plines. There will be an international flavour with at least one American speaker, workshops, discussions and presentations from the membership. If you are a member of the Forum and want to be involved in the planning or have ideas for the content, please do let me know. Otherwise keepthe dates free in our diary and watch this space for more details. Forum/Novo NordiskAwardsfor Innovation in Diabetes Nursing 1999 Following the successful first year of these awards, which carry a prizeof an all expenses paidtripto the annual EASDmeeting, I am pleased to let you know they will be presented again in 1999. The awards are open to nurses who are members of the Forum who submit a piece of work which shows an innovative approachto care for people with diabetes. Judges are from the DiabetesNursing ForumSteering Group and the Novo Nordisk company. Flyers will be reaching members of the Forum shortly but I can tell you that the closing date will be Friday 26th February 1999 - time to write up or plan that project! We acknowledge the support of Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals in making these Awards possible.
