INSTALLATION It is important that the installation sequence is followed to ensure complete and proper recognition by the factory radio. 1. Switch off radio, turn off ignition and remove keys. 2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal (Ensure radio code is known or accessible). 3. Depending on where the Auxiliary Source is to be mounted you may need to run the audio cable to the desired location where you want to keep your external player. 4. Using the appropriate radio keys, remove head unit from console. 5. Connect the black wire from the emulator, to a good earth point. 6. Locate CD Changer socket on back of head unit and connect the VAG CD Changer emulator white ‘quadlock’ plug. 7. Reconnect negative battery terminal. 8. Verify full working operation via the radio. 9. Re-install the factory head unit into the console. 10. Mount the portable player in a desired mounting location . .     INSTALLATION

    It is important that the installation sequence is followed to ensure complete and proper recognition by the factory

    VW RCD300 CD Changer Emulator Installation

    First please remove the dash trim,

    grab it from the lower edge, and pull,

    hard ,try and pull where the clips are -

  • Pull the unit clear of the dash Next remove the four screws that hold the

    head unit in place - you'll need a T-20

    torx bit

    As you pull the head unit clear, watch out

    for the black rubber wedges that the unit

    locates on, sometimes they come out with

    the head unit.

    Sometimes, they stay in situ, within the

    dash

  • The Emulator requires an earth connection, the

    case is earthed - so it can be fixed it on the top of

    the head unit

    Plug the big white block into socket B on the

    rear of the RCD 300 .

    Follow the steps described in the design.

    Insert the white connector in the empty slot of the quadlock connector. There are 2 empty Slots but the CD Changer connector (white) only fits into one of the slots.

    You may observe the sticker found on the Head unit itself for pinout nstructions.

  • Put everything back in reverse order. Be very careful when mounting the Head Unit fascia.

    When connected the emulator will allow the audio from an auxiliary input (DVD, PSP, MP3 etc)

    to be played through the vehicles speaker system via the CD mode on the OEM head unit.

    This product is covered by a 12 months warranty from the date of purchase.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Make sure to ground the Black Ground Cable to a suitable Ground Connection, then route the Aux-In con-

    nection to a convenient location, where you can easily access it. For detailed troubleshooting please contact us.
