RI Board reinforces strategic priorities, goals

Directors endorse flexible meetings, approve US$4

million for PR grants.

RI president's December message

―Fifty years ago, I often heard the expression Keep

Rotary simple. That admonition has been lost in

the intervening years, and I want to remind Rotari-ans that the basic concept of Rotary service is sim-

Principles that Guide Rotary

Rotary History

For more information about ROTARY,please visit:

The changes, which include endorsing the concept of flexibleattendance and meeting requirements, are designed to keepRotary vibrant and attractive to current members and pro-spective members from younger generations.

"By focusing on strategic issues throughout the week, theBoard was able to reach consensus on several strategic deci-

sions, which constitute progressive moves by the RI Board,"says RI President Ray Klinginsmith.

Among other actions, the Board at its Nov 2010 meeting

Agreed to the concept of amending RI policy on meetingattendance, meeting options, and member termination inorder to support and strengthen clubs by allowing themmore flexibility. The changes will require revisions to theRI Constitution and the Standard Rotary Club Constitu-tion in the form of legislation submitted to the 2013Council on Legislation.

Agreed to conduct four new pilot programs -- associate

member, corporate member, satellite clubs, and innova-tive and flexible Rotary clubs -- to promote membershipdiversity and improve recruitment, beginning 1 July. Twohundred clubs will be accepted for each three-year pilot.

Encouraged districts with more than 100 clubs and over 4,000 members to split into two or three new districts asearly as 1 July 2012.

"Rotary must change its culture from one of attendance toone of engagement," says RI Director Stuart B. Heal, chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. "It is our belief that in thenext decade this must become our culture as we becomemore innovative and continue serving around the world."

RI Board adopts shift in paradigms

to position Rotary for growth in new era

DOVE Editors’ take on the paradigm shifts Welcome! The decisions of the 2010-11 RI

Board should help improve Rotary membership

level that has remained virtually flat since 1995.

The Share-a-Toy project of RCHS last Dec 4, 2010 was a success, thanks to the support of RCHS members and friends including thefollowing ladies and gentlemen who provided toys and goodies:

Thanks to Mrs Carmen Tan of Save More Drug for providing two (2)vats of arroz caldo for the kids.

Also, thanks to Romy Teraytay of Starship Security Agency whosent 250 pcs of doypack juice, and to Rtns Baby Lorenzo andLowell Custodio who provided purified drinking water for everybody.

Thanks to DAHHA for the use of the covered court and for sendingsecurity guards to control the gate. Thanks to Suzy Suarez andstaff as well as BSDOs of the Barangay for ensuring peace andorder throughout the duration of program.

Most of all, the event would not have been that successful and funwere it not for our Interactors led by President Xyrryl Mae Opinaldowho exerted commendable effort to prepare & lead the program.
