In this document we will only concern ourselves with some of the more common configurationsfor the CDU_A and the CDU_C+ and which I have listed below here.

CDU_A , One cabinet with a maximum TRU config of 2+2+2

CDU_C+, One cabinet with a maximum TRU config of 2+2+2

CDU_C+, Two cabinets with a maximum TRU config of 4+4+4

    Preconditions

All required CDUs are pre-installed on site

Existing PCM link to site is suffice to cater for the additional TRUs to be installed on site

    3.1 Installation of TRUs

Call the FMT before entering the equipment room to notify them of your attendance andwhich will explain the site door alarm.

Sign site log book, indicating reason for visit.

Remove TRU blank plate from the position, the new TRU is to be installed and remove thespare TRU connection cables inside the TRU blank panel. There should be one TXconnection cable and two RX connection cables present.

Remove TRU unit from packing and give it a good visual check before inserting it into itsallocated slot.

Care needs to be exercised here to ensure that the back plane connections for the newTRU is made properly when inserting the new TRU unit into its place.

Do not at any stage force the TRU in if it is not fitting/sliding in smoothly as it may result inthe back plane connectors getting damaged.

You may adjust the TRU back plane connectors if it is not fitting into place properly wheninserting the TRU unit.

Once the TRU is properly slotted in, secure it with the fastening screws provided.

Follow the cabling provided in the following tables provided for their respectiveconfigurations.

Switch on the power for this newly installed TRU by switching on its relevant fuse unit at thetop of the cabinet where the IDM is located.
