RING THE ALARM.

Here it is, the application form for the 2016 Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal. Now, we know the application form in front of you

is long. But it is not meant to be difficult. Instead its designed to give you the opportunity to present yourself as honestly as possible.

Besides, nothing worthwhile ever took just five minutes.

After youre done filling in the answers, dont forget to also put together an accompanying audio CD. Every application must have one. If

you make music, send us something youve produced, written, played or sang on. If youre a DJ, send us a bedroom mix thats at least 30

minutes long. Whatever you do, our suggestion is to put the best tracks first and include just enough material to get the point across. We

want to get a feel for where youre at creatively, and a strong vision will always be more important than a polished sound.

Before you get started, please read through this checklist:

In order to create an open, diverse musical environment for participants, we dont invite bands to the Academy.

One application, one person.

To be selected, you need to make sure your application is complete and postmarked by March 7, 2016.We do not open applications

postmarked after this date. Once again, that date is March 7, 2016.

Due to local laws, you need to be 18 yearsof age by September 25, 2016 to be eligible for the Academy in Montreal.

Include two different photos of yourself in the application. One should be passport-sized, one a regular snapshot. Write your name

and country legibly on the back of the photos.

Make sure your CD is an audio CD that is playable in a standard CD player. Unfortunately we cant send your CD back.

But dont worry: We wont share it with anyone but the application jury or use it for anything but the selection process.

Please write out the tracklist for your CD on a separate sheet of paper and include it in the slipcase.

Lectures and workshops at the Academy are held in English, therefore the application form needs to be filled out in English too,

by you and no one else. We are not worried about poor grammar or spelling mistakes.

Dont worry about your sloppy handwriting too much, EXCEPT for your contact details. Itll make it a lot easier for us to get

in touch with you if you have been selected as one of the participants for 2016.

We cannot accept any half-completed questionnaires (in fact, we throw them away), so please make sure you answer each

and every question on there.

In case you need to fill out any tax or customs form when posting your application, please make sure to highlight that the

contents of the package are application documents with NO commercial value. Unfortunately we cannot cover any tax or

customs duty if it's charged on application packages.

Please bear in mind that applications might take a while to arrive (sometimes even weeks). In order to make sure that your

application arrives before we finish the applications process and announce the participants, we highly recommend to send it

as early as possible.

cannot provide individual feedback. But please sleep safe in the knowledge that all entries will be thoroughly considered by at least two

different people from different backgrounds.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION & DATA PROTECTION

1.) We respect your right to privacy. In the following, the term Personal Data describes all data kept in connection

with your application and participation in this years Red Bull Music Academy.

2.) Red Bull may process your Personal Data itself, within the Red Bull Group or through outside data processors

who will process data on its behalf in accordance with all relevant data protection regulations.

3.) Red Bull and its affiliated companies will, as a general policy, not transmit Personal Data to third parties without your

explicit consent. You herewith consent, that your Personal Data can be transmitted, stored and used by the Yadastar GmbH,

with registered offices at Boisserestrasse 9-11, 50674 Cologne, Germany, the official organizing partner of Red Bull for

the Red Bull Music Academy. In particular, Personal Data will not be sold, leased or traded. However, in cases in which Red Bull

is required to transmit Personal Data to an outside data processor, jury or other partner of Red Bull in connection withthe Red Bull Music Academy, Red Bull will only transmit as much Personal Data as is necessary in order to fulfill its tasks

related to the Red Bull Music Academy. In such cases, Red Bull will require and make sure that our partners treat all

Personal Data in a confidential manner and according to all relevant data protection regulations as well as to delete such

Personal Data immediately as soon as their specific tasks have been fulfilled in connection with the Red Bull Music Academy.

Please note that Red Bull does not have complete control over the compliance with this obligation and that Red Bull cannot

be held responsible for possible infringements by its partners to the extent that it is legally permissible.

4.) If you are accepted as a Red Bull Music Academy participant, Red Bull will use your Personal Data to create a biography

and other promotion material for use in above-the-line (ATL) campaigns of Red Bull and third party promoters in several

online and offline media for promotional activities in relation with the Red Bull Music Academy.

5.) Since Red Bull operates globally, this may mean Red Bull could transfer your personal information to other countries,

including countries outside the European Economic Area in accordance with all relevant data protection regulations.

6.) Personal Data will only be used for purposes in connection with the Red Bull Music Academy and will only be retained

by Red Bull, its affiliated companies and its mandated data processors, jury and other partners for as long as is necessary

to fulfill the original or directly related purpose for which it was collected in connection with the Red Bull Music Academy.

This might include a period of time after the conclusion of the Red Bull Music Academy in order to inform you about future

Red Bull Music Academy events or to fulfill tax related or any other legal queries.

7.) Red Bull, its affiliated companies and its mandated data processors shall process your Personal Data securely and take

appropriate security measures to protect the Personal Data.

8.) Red Bull does not knowingly collect information from persons below the age of 18.

9.) The entered Personal Data shall always be accurate. You should keep your data up to date. Red Bull will ensure that your

personal data is not used if we know that it is not accurate.

10.) Red Bull and its contractors may contact you via email, phone or otherwise in relation to the Red Bull Music Academy.

11.) At any time, you have the opportunity to require the amendment and/or the deletion, entirely or partly, of such

Personal Data. In such a case, Red Bull will ensure the deletion of such data as soon as feasible. Please be aware, that you

will not be able to further attend the Red Bull Music Academy in this case.

12.) At any time, you also have the right to request information about the Personal Data we are keeping.
