It has been a long road from March15 until now.  We have watched as apandemic, protest, riots have been thefocus of fear.  Things continue tocause panic, worry, distress, stirringup sorrow and breaking hearts. 

Divisions have resulted among peopleover small, petty and insignificantsubjects.  In the spiritual world theevil one laughs. In the world we cansee people lash out in anger andbitterness, marking a line in the sandand declaring war.

What we must be reminded is theWord of God speaks to such a time. We see these words clearly for ustoday:

“Finally, be strengthened by theLord and by His vast strength. Puton the full armor of God so thatyou can stand against the tactics ofthe Devil. For our battle is notagainst flesh and blood, but againstthe rulers, against the authorities,against the world powers of thisdarkness, against the spiritual forcesof evil in the heavens.” (Ephesians6:10-12 HCSB)

God is still in control.  He is stilldirecting the hearts and minds ofthose who will obey Him.  He hasnot lifted His hand; He has nottaken His Spirit from the church.

He is still working out His divinepurpose and plan.  We must payclose attention to what He isdoing and join Him in His work.

At Rockford, we are workingthrough the phases.  We are still inPhase 1, though slightly modifiedand the other two phases are aheadof us.  We do not work through adated timetable, as we wait for holydirection and godly wisdom. While we are in this pause or Selah,waiting to make the right decisionmoving into Phase 2, we will Re-Fresh ourselves in the presence ofthe Lord.

Re-Fresh.  Our exploration willinvolve three areas of our Spiritualjourney: Our standing with God;Our sustainability to move forwardin His commands; Our service in anew, different, difficult world.

Pray for the leadership of the churchfamily as we discuss and follow thedirection and wisdom of the Father. Wedesire to do the right thing. As yourpastor, my desire is to provide andprotect; it is not an easy calling. MayGod bless us and lead us with Hisloving, gentle, caring hand.
