A WORD TOGETHER

Temple Shalom 2424 Nonh limestone Street

Springfield. Ohio 45503 1S131 399· 1231

~ 5150-51

Another year will soon be ushered in. Bernice, myself, Richard,

and Elliot hope it will be a healthy and happy one for members of the

Temple Sholom family. Many new activities and programs will be a

part of this year's Temple calendar. Be participants and not spect ators.

Only in this way will your Jewish conciousness be raised.

Individually and collectively problems abound. Presently we once

again face an" outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East and the threat

of bloodshed. Yet no matter how grim the times, hope remains a necessity.

As Jews we are good at hope: we know how to hope, even against the odds.

The words we sing in the Ha tikvah: /../ J)f i' )) ;") 3;:J I C IC.) ~ i ,..

"Still our hope has , not died," expresses this truth of Jewish history.

Let us pray, though we all face personal problems and the world at

large is at a perilous juncture, hope will never be surrendered during

the New Year!
