FOREIGN RIGHTS

MagazinesRBA and National Geographic maintain a solid partnership that has been long and firmly

well established. We were the first licensee to publish the NG magazine in a language

other than English and, since then, we are the only licensee who has developed and

continues to develop more NG content in the entire world.

In addition to publishing the NG magazine in Spain and Portugal, RBA has created two

other monthly magazines: VIAJES NG (TRAVEL) (2000) and HISTORY NG (2003), both

with content entirely developed by ourselves. At present we publish National Geographic

History in Spain, Italy and Portugal and have licensed them in France (Le Monde),

Holland (G+J) and the US (National Geographic).

Also, worthy to note, in the year 2000 RBA was the first company to create monographic

special issues. A concept, which a few years later was imported by National Geographic

into the US. We have, since then, developed and published hundreds of them, which have

also been translated into several.

On a final note, we have developed hundreds of books for trade, with the branding NG,

both for adults and children, surpassing sales of over 15 million copies worldwide.

MATHEMATICSSCIENCE

Why is the world the way it is? This question has

been enthralling mankind since time immemorial.

Science is an attempt to answer this great question.

Without the theory of relativity, quantum mechanics,

universal gravitation or geometry, it is impossible to

understand the world and the way we live today.

In each special issue you will immerse yourself in the

live and time of a great genius.

Here you will find themes and theories that will

open your eyes to the world. Simple explanations

and rational arguments make the text easy to follow,

while box features look at historical background and

bring an insight into how mathematics is a part

of our everyday lives.

The beautiful language of mathematics

Can you express beauty in mathematical terms?

Since ancient times, the golden section (or golden

ratio) has been considered a yardstick for beauty,

and mathematicians have applied their theories to all manner

of visual delights. Discover, too, how the series of numbers

identified by Fibonacci obeys the rules of the golden ratio.

The face of Albert Einstein is one of the most recognizable

of the last century, alongside film stars or major political

figures. Now that the echoes of the troubled period he lived

through have died down, his extraordinary scientific

contributions endure: above all else, the theory of relativity,

which changed our notions

of space and time forever.

DARK MATTER

In recent decades it has been found that a new

type of matter, radically different from the traditional

one, spreads all over the universe. Called “dark”, as

it is so difficult to detect it. Along with the no less

mysterious “dark energy”, it constitutes 95% of the

total content of the cosmos. So dense are they that

the fate of the entire universe depends on them.

Meet the Dinosaurs!

We tend to use the word “dinosaur” for any prehistoric

creature, but, actually, only the ones that lived on land

deserve the name. Ancient flying reptiles are known as

pterosaurs and there were many types of marine reptiles,

such as plesiosaurs, mosasaurs, ichtyosaurs and nothosaurs.

Within this sumptuous book and its dynamic layout of graphics

and intricate illustrations discover all the secrets of each

type of pre-historic creature.

An exceptional work that will teach children -and their

parents, too- everything about the complexity

of the lives of these amazing and, in many

cases, worrying, creatures. More than 800

full-color illustrations include impressively intricate

drawings of the anatomy of each bug, striking

hyperrealistic recreations of their habitat,

and interesting photographs that will reveal

data about their attack and defense

techniques, camouflage, food, courtship,
