possible• Use property and land to help deliver

the one we have now. One which is:– Customer facing– Responsive to local needs– Flexible to allow changes– More sustainable and energy efficient– Affordable

Hive – Europe’s first fully integrated public and university library, customer contact centre and Historic Services

Malvern – Youth Service provided by the community, youth centre on long lease reducing revenue and releasing development sites

Pershore – Service transformation through joint working; sale of library to Town Council



Innovation – local solutions

Joint Police and Fire Stations – Bromsgrove and Redditch, generated from wider estate review and regeneration

Depots – South Worcestershire review, fewer, more sustainable depots through co-location and sharing

Upton - Under Localism agenda Town Council leading CC and Police supporting One Town approach to improve public services



Successes so far• Over 30 County wide partner projects• County Council has – released 19 buildings– Targeting 100 buildings by 2016– Raise £30m in capital receipts– £4m plus annual revenue savings

I also have a dream….• Where the public sector property professional

is the first person consulted on strategic transformation and change because services recognise we might just hold the key to them achieving true transformation.

• Oh well………I did say it was a dream!



BUT……..there has never been a more exciting, more dynamic or more important time to be working in public sector property…..This is our time - please make the most of it.
