Introduction

Rating and Review AddonThis very Addon allows registered users to rate the product in an unbiased way. Whereas, rating and reviewaddon enables not only registered users but also guest user to rate and share their view about theparticular add which helps other to generalize the Ad. It is very much useful in influencing purchasingdecision of users. The user gets to read review made by many others which helps them to decide whetheror not to buy a product. The review addon will enable users to review an ad on the basis of many aspects.For instance a car can be reviewed on the basis of its feature, its brand, price specified etc. For instance ifa user gives a product a rating of Price-5, Quality-4, Design-3 then the overall rating of this product will be5+4+3 divided by 3 which will be 4. This addon will be very much helpful for the viewers as it willacknowledge them about the aspects of the product that are good and aspects that are bad. Moreover anoption “was this review helpful?” will also be available below the rating/review so that you can give youropinion about the review of the previous users.

What it does:

Rating And Review allows user to rate and review a particular add in an unbiased way and is entirely userbased. This will acknowledge users about the aspect of the product that are good and bad. Meanwhile, theadministrator has the full access on whether publish or not to publish a particular rating or review. It allowsuser to post a comment on a particular add based upon his evaluation.

Why you should use it:It is evidence that online rating and review influences purchasing decision. Customers read review andjudge the product themselves based on the feedback. It is very much useful in making customer judge ontheir own by having read a particular rating and review which might as well influence the buying decision ofa consumer.


General terms you need to be familiar with:

1. Install Rating and Review Addon. After successful installation go to the Listbingo (backend)>Addons> Review Addon.The Following window will appear.

If you click Save , the changes will be saved.

If you click apply , the changes will be saved but the page won’t be redirected i.e. ifyou go to the next page then the changes will not be applied until you save it.

If you click cancel on Cancel , no changes will be applied.Note: Do not alter the names specified in the Element and folder option.

Frontend View:Go to Listbingo (frontend)>Ads. In the detail view of an ad, when you scroll down, a window similar tothe below will appear

Hit write new review button. The following window will appear








Write a Review Title, Name, Email and the review message. When you are done, enter the text thatappears in Recaptcha.Hit the save button if you want your review to be displayed.

Some basic terminology necessary for administrator for managing rating andreview.Go to the Listbingo (backend) listbingo- control panel. The following window will appear.Listbingo(backend)-control panel:

Click at Rate & Review Icon that is shown by a black arrow. After having clicked that icon the followingwindow will appear.

How to add new criteria?

Criteria are a basic for making rating and review. Criteria can vary from a product to another. Such asMileage, Performance, Speed, cost, looks can be criteria of a bike ad post where user can rate and writea review based upon their experience and judgment. Some basic steps involved in adding criteria.


Hit the criteria button shown in above figure and click at ad new criteria and the following window willappear.

Suppose that you want you want to enable rating and review in an ad of a boat so what can be criteria forrating and review? You may add criteria such as Speed, Looks Durability, cost, etc. where people canrate and review. When you are done hit the publish button in order to publish.

Note: You also need to assign categories. Select the categories where you want to enable Rate andReview. If you want to enable rate and review in all categories then select all categories.

Following criteria will appear such as Speed, style, Mileage will appear in the window when the user willclick on write a review and the user can rate accordingly as per their judgment.

How to Manage Review?

Managing review is vital for administrator (host), as some reviewer review might be deceptive. It mightvandalize product image. So it is an obligation of an administrator to manage review.

When you click on Review Manager Button the following window will appear.

You can unpublish certain review which you think might be deceptive. This is entirely based on yourjudgment and you have the full access on the decision whether to publish or unpublish certain review.

How to Manage Report?

People are more likely to report some deceptive review. After having read that review administrator candecide whether or not to unpublish certain review. Administrator cannot check on every single review so itallows others users to report on deceptive review. After checking on the report administrator decide topublish or unpublish that particular rating and review.

How to Manage Poll?

Rating and review allows user to participate in a poll. Moreover an option “was this review helpful?” willalso be available below the Rating and review so that the users can give their opinion about the review.Reviewer will get 1 Point if other user clicks on yes and 1 point will be deducted if others vote on NO.Similarly the one with maximum “Yes” vote and Least “No” vote ranked as No. 1 Reviewer and so on. It issupposed to encourage many people to write a review. It is very much necessary for an administrator tomanage poll. As poll will encourage more people to write a review. Before getting to it let’s check on howdo users participate in poll?


After the review is being saved other users can view the review details as shown above. If they think thereview was helpful they click on “Yes” and “No” in case they didn’t like the review.

Steps involved in managing review poll.

Click on the review title and then review details will be displayed. Then you will get to see the Review Details such as Reviewers comment, title, ad, overall rating, poll

review Unpublish the review if you think the poll wasn’t fair enough.

Click on yes in order to un publishcertain review poll.
