Rate Desk Pricing (RDP) is a method used to manually price PNRs that do not auto price (4P) or cannot be agent assist priced (4P-). This usually applies to more complex itineraries. Rate Desk Pricing (RDP) creates and stores a ticket record for use at the time of ticketing. The format, 4/R initiates the process. RDP Guidelines:

• RDP requires a GS duty code. • The fare information stored using RDP entries is stored in a

ticket record for use at the time of ticketing. • The ticket record contains all the pricing information for a

maximum of 4 passenger type codes (PTCs) per PNR. • The maximum number of segments that can be rate desk priced

is 16 including ARNKs or surface segments. • The maximum size of a horizontal fare ladder is 8 lines. The

maximum number of characters on each line is 30, including spaces.

• PNRs can be priced from queue 19, category 0 or can be priced out of queue.

• Any significant change to the PNR invalidates an attached ticket record.

RDP Features and Benefits

• Provides the ability to select passenger type codes and/or segments.

• An entry to resume when an RDP sequence is interrupted. • An entry to insert commission data in the ticket record. • An entry to insert the tour code and ticket designator. • The ability to ignore and re-enter the fare and tax data. • A simplified method of correcting almost any fare data. • A verification process is provided that allows review of a

copied ticket record in the event of a PNR change.

• Fare ladders require no spaces but they can be used for clarity. The 30 character maximum includes spaces.

After the fare data is complete, if there are more PTCs to be priced, a new segment data screen for the next PTC is displayed. Connection data already exist since it is not PTC related information.
