1.0 Installation

One single installation file Setup.exe is provided. The user also needs a valid license to

start working with RAppID. Following instructions guide you through each step of the

installation.

1.1 Minimum Plat form Requirements

The minimum recommended PC platform is Window XP, Vista, and Windows 7 & 8(32bit versions or XP compatibility mode) with a minimum CPU Speed of 2.0 GHz and

Minimum of 4GB of RAM.

Graphic Setup: Support of small (normal size 96 dpi) fonts in windows only.

Support for 1024x768 (minimum tested) up to 1600 x 1900 (maximum tested) screen sizes.

1.2 Ins tal l ing o f RApp ID

Double click the setup.exe file to launch the setup program. The setup program will guide youthrough the installation.

1. The RAppID Installation Wizard dialog will appear. Click “Next” to proceed.

2. Click through the end users license agreement to the next dialog.

3. The “Choose destination directory” dialogue box will appear. The default install

directory is “C:\RAppID\”. You can change the install directory by click “Browser”

button. Click “Next” button to proceed.

3. Follow the steps that are standard to most software installation.

4. A dialog to place the “RAppID Projects” will appear during the installation please

choose a user accessible data area such as under My Documents for this.

5. When finished, the RAppID shortcut should appear in the list of Windows Start

Programs menu and also a desktop icon will be created if you had selected the option

during install.\

6. Run License Manager Installer from RAppID Menu-> License Tools->License

Manager Installation, click on the icon to install the license manager.

7. Purchase a license online at www.freescale.com/rappid on the buy now tab or throughyour local Freescale representative or distributor. If you desire a trial please fill out the

license request form and email to [email protected], please ensure to use the license

tools to include the locking codes for your machine. License request will NOT be processed without locking codes.

1.3 Obtaining and Ins tal ling a L icense

The first step in installing a license is to obtain a license; this is done by sending the license

request form via email to [email protected]. Follow the steps shown below to generate thelicense request email.

1.

Launch the RAppID Init tool from the start menu.

2. A dialog will appear indicating that no valid license file was found.

3. Click Yes to bring up the RAppID Product Registration form. An asterisk (*) appears

next to each text field that must be completed.

Once the dialog is filled in and the type of license is selected, press the complete buttonand review the information as shown below.



5. If the information is not correct select “Back” to return to the previous dialog to enter the

correct information. Once the correct information is entered press the “Send Mail” button and the data will be copied to your windows email client addressed to

[email protected]. Send the email and we will prepare and send back a license.

Note: A text file of the license request is generated to provide an alternative method or in

case of any problems with the windows email client.






6. When the license is received it will be in the forms of a file or a license code. The code

must be placed in a file named “license.lic”. The license file must be placed into the

„..\RAppID\(MCU name) \lic‟ directory. Once this is complete the tool will pick up the

license and it shall be by the tools. If any errors occur or license stops working pleasecapture the error message and send it to [email protected] for support.
