We take the best that exists and refine it. When it does not exist We design it.
From the start, we identified that the Range Rover Evoque was going to be as important and influential to A. Kahn Design as it has been for Land Rover themselves, therefore making our mark and getting it right
was of prime importance.
A. Kahn Design’s aim is to appreciate and enhance the original vehicle’s design. With this vehicle in particular, we had a great respect for what the original designers had achieved and wanted our design to be perceived
as an evolution of the original.
By first focusing on A. Kahn Design’s history of unique graphical break ups, our design team honed the vehicle’s character, creating a front graphic that could be distinctive yet very fitting for both a Kahn and
Land Rover product.
We aimed to make the car look iconic. It feels wider, lower and more aggressive, without changing the dimensions. A frontal graphic was developed to bring the viewer’s eye to the edges of the car, and a rear diffuser draws the eyes down to our larger, finely detailed wheels. We also wanted to add a touch of sporting intent that is becoming a hallmark of A. Kahn Design’s products, which led to a slightly snarling expression.
In addition to the graphical focus, our philosophy of creating simple, purposeful and machined forms informed the surfacing – leading to a prominent lower front bumper spoiler and integrated vent details. The chin spoiler
and rear diffuser in particular is unmistakably Kahn, while blending seamlessly with the original design.
