The outlook for the healthcare sectorappears to be very bright for the foreseeablefuture. Attributed as a main factor in drivingeconomic growth, the healthcare industrycontinues to deliver solid job growth month
after month. In May, healthcare and socialassistance employment grew by 34,000 jobsaccording to the Bureau of Labor Statistics(BLS). Employment in the profession is
expected to grow nearly twice as fast as thegeneral economy, increasing by 29 percentand resulting in a projected 3.5 million new
jobs by 2020.

According to Staffing IndustryAnalysts, several occupationswithin the healthcare field areamongst some of the mosthighly skilled jobs with thelowest unemployment rates.Further, the healthcare staffingsector is projected to have
one of the highest growthpercentage increases out of allother industry segments, at 7%from 2012 to 2013.
The Randstad HealthcareEmployee Confidence Index, ameasure of overall confidenceamong U.S. healthcare workers,was 58.4 in the first quarterof 2012, according to a recentonline survey conducted by HarrisInteractive on behalf of RandstadHealthcare. The newly launchedsurvey of 4,341 U.S. adults, amongwhich 252 are employed in thehealthcare industry, indicatespositive confidence levels (above
50), particularly when it comesto optimism in workers’ ability tofind new jobs and in the future oftheir current employers.

This survey was conducted online within theUnited States by Harris Interactive on behalfof Randstad Healthcare from January 9-11 &February 15-17 & March 13-15, 2012, among4,341 adults ages 18 and older of which 252
are employed in healthcare, which includedphysicians, healthcare administrators, aswell as other healthcare professionals. Thisonline survey is not based on a probabilitysample and therefore no estimate oftheoretical sampling error can be calculated.
About the Randstad HealthcareEmployment Report
This quarterly Randstad HealthcareEmployment Report provides a snapshotof the latest workforce trends across thecountry. Three key indices are measured:
the Randstad Healthcare Job Security Index,which captures how likely respondentsthink it is that they will lose their job or
that their job will be eliminated in thenext 12 months; the Randstad HealthcareJob Transition Index, which captures howlikely respondents are to look for a new jobin the next 12 months; and the RandstadHealthcare Employee Confidence Index thatmeasures employees’ overall confidencein the economy, their employer, and theirability to find other employment. TheEmployee Confidence Index is calculatedfrom the results of four componentsthat reflect these aspects of employeeconfidence. For each component item a‘score’ is calculated by taking the difference
of the percentage of positive responsesand the percentage of negative responses.These four scores are then averaged to
indicate an overall level of employeeconfidence, with each score ranking ona scale from 0 (no confidence) to 100(complete confidence). A reading above50 indicates a positive confidence level.
