Random Dash is a magazine with two directions. We write about anything that has to do with games and different television series. In comparison to other gaming magazines we have an inex-perienced girl who reviews one game in every issue. In that way we have an impartial reviewer. In this issue the girl plays LittleBigPlanet and in every issue the games will be harder and harder. We also have an article about socially unaccepted fandoms, in this issue it is about Bronies. Our reporter will write about boys and girls who are watching a series which is from the beginning meant to be watched by kids in the ages 2-10. Of course we have a lot of more to read about. Enjoy!

Review of LittleBigPlanet:As the editor said in the “letter from the editor” I am an inexperienced girl who will try different games in every issue. This time I tried LittleBigPlanet. In Litt-leBigPlanet you are a character called Sackboy. The special thing with Sackboy is that you can change his/her appea-rance just as you want; if you want him to have a tail you can give him/her one. Nobody really knows if it is a boy or a girl. You can buy clothes and other stuff for him/her and earn clothes, hats and much more on the different levels. The game is about just having fun and finish the different levels and gather points. You can play up to four players at the same time, you can play with your friends, on the internet or just on your own. You can cooperate or compete, it´s your choice. When you have finished the game in story mode you can go out in the world and try some of the levels

other players have made. If you want to create a world, just do it. You can do almost what you want; you can create obstacles, traps and much more for a perfect play experience. When you are finished with the level you built you can share it with others. The game had menues which were easy, but I had a bit of trouble remembering which buttons I was supposed to click for different commands, like go back and other commands like that. The only button I remembered at the first se-cond was the button for “select” as it is

the same in almost every game (if you wonder the button was X). The game was actually really fun when I played it together with three others, I don´t know how it would be to play it on my own but I think it would be the same. After a while I remembered almost every command. Two of them was R1 to “grab on to something” and R2 plus right-joystick to “punch”. I thought the game was fun and it was a game I could play because I want to and not just for having something to do. If I compare it to other games I have played this game was the easiest and fastest to learn. And I didn´t have to be so fast on the but-tons as I have had to be in other games. Even if the LittleBigPlanet does not a really have any story it was a good

game because I could do everything at my own pace and I could do what I felt like when I wanted to. And the best thing with it was that I could compete against my friends and at the same time I didn´t have to concentrate as much as I have to in other more complicated games. And of course I, for once, didn´t lose. The only thing that bothers me is that you have to have Play Station 3 to be able to play it. I would like them to make the game for example WII and for the computer. I think the reason it only exists for Play Station is because it´s Sony that has made both the LittleBig-Planet and Play Station.

THE WALKING DEAD, THE GRAPHIC NOVEL VS THE TV-SHOW

The Walking Dead, the Graphic Novel vs the TV-show

The author of the walking dead is Ro-bert Kirkman. He is also the co-author of the TV-show because they needed someone who could change it enough so that it would be new, but still be true to the Walking Dead spirit, so before they made anything for the show they got Kirkman to give it his go ahead. When Kirkman and Frank Darabont wanted to produce The Walking Dead, they gave AMC (An American tele-vision network) the pilot episode and wanted to know if they could sponsor them, and after AMC saw that it was good that they decided to sponsor them and gave the show a prime time slot and ordered an entire season of episodes. The show is well produced and you can

tell that they have invested a lot of money in the show, in a particular scene

Page 7: Random Dash

they hired 250 stand-ins and did zom-bie make up on all of them, which per person takes three hours so just that had to take a long time. The walking dead was the first graphic novel I read, but I didn’t start to read it until after I read that the comics were better than the show, and I need to agree with (the reviews on the internet) that it has less action but the characters are always the main focus. The TV-show starts with the main character Rick Grimes waking up in a hospital after being in a coma, and not knowing what has happened or why he is the only one left at the hospital. After getting out of the hospital he sees all the dead bodies, then he goes home but when he gets there he is knocked un-conscious.He wakes up in a room tied to the bed,

and there is a man sitting in a chair asking where he got his wound. The graphic novel starts in almost the same way, with him waking up in his hospital bed but that his door is block-ed by a bed. After that he escapes the hospital, he finds a girl who rode on a bike when she died, he gets scared and runs away, after that he gets home and is knocked unconscious by a man who took over the house when it was vacant. He wakes up and walks out to the li-ving room and starts to talk to the man that hit him over the head. He has a son and all of them drive to the police sta-tion and get guns.So both of them start in almost the same way. The only thing that the TV-show does differently is that it needs to set the mood of the entire show, and it does that well because it’s not scary but creepy. When I first saw the show I didn’t like it because it was too slow and I didn’t know that the focus was on the characters, but when I read the comics it all changed because the comics fo-cused on the characters as well. That made me realizes that it was supposed to be about the human’s choice to be good in the apocalypse. So if I need to recommend one it would be the comics because I like the way it is set up with the characters and the main story, the main story is also better in the comics because it is not as slow as the TV-show. The final thing I need to say is that if you don’t want to pay for the comics because they cost then you need to watch the show./Niklas Bredberg

RED DEAD REDEMPTIONRed Dead Redemption Review

Red Dead Redemption is a western Third Person Shooter game in an open world where you can go around and do missions, go to gang hideouts and kill “evil” gang members or just goof around. It’s developed by Rockstar who also made “Grand Theft Auto”. It’s very similar to GTA except it takes place in the Wild West.In singleplayer mode you play as John Marston, a ranch owner with a past as an outlaw which catches up to him and he must fix things from his past like

taking down his old gang members by turning them in to the police or killing them. His family is held hostage by the police who forces him to do as they say. Marston travels from classic Western cities trough buffalo filled Northern America to Mexico, hunting old gang members. The first thing you do is to try and persuade an old gang member who has taken over a fort. But of course you fail and get shot. Luckily for you there is a girl named Bonny McFarlane who comes and rescues you and takes you to her farm. She lets you recover and stay there for a while but you have to repay her by doing some missions for her. It’s like a small tutorial and you get a lasso with which you can “break in horses” to make them your horse. Af-ter that you help different people to do missions and get closer to all the gang members one by one. The singleplayer is not too long, neither too short. So-mewhere between 24 and 48 hours. In the multiplayer mode you start by choosing between a few characters. You start with a donkey as mount but re-ceive new mounts as you level up. The first weapons you have are a revolver, knife and your hands, but also here you receive new ones as you level up. Other things you can unlock are titles, through leveling up or completing chal-lenges. You can also unlock singleplayer characters.

Red Dead Redemption online without Downloadable content (DLC) if you are playing alone it is pretty much: run around and complete gang hideout; which means you kills all gang mem-bers at that hideout. If you play with friends it is much more fun because you can with more joy just goof around with your friends doing drive-bys on a carriage. For the one that wants to shoot everybody there are game modes that are much like the other big shooter games. Options for friendly freeroam or normal freeroam are available for the ones that don’t want to shoot each other.

Some less good things are the turning radius of horses and carriages and the story isn’t that good either. It’s the ga-meplay you want (gameplay is how the game plays). To make the game even more fun they have added some DLC (downloadable content). “Myths and Mavericks “: new multip-layer game mode locations, free.

“Undead nightmare”: a new storyline where pretty much everyone is a zom-bie, 90 :-.

“Liars and Cheats”: online poker and liar’s dice. Also there is a new weapon and new gang hideouts, 50-60 :-.

“Legends and Killers”: new weapon, “team deathmatch“ locations and new characters, 50-60 :-

“Outlaws to the end”: co-op missions for you and your friends, freeThis is a fun game and I recommend you to buy it if you have any other friends who are willing to buy it too.

channel called “The Hub”. The show aired for the first time on the October 10, 2010, and it is now on its second season. This series is based on Hasbro’s toy series also named My Little Pony. The show is produced for TV by Lau-ren Faust who is famous for her work on the Powerpuff Girls And Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.

The My Little Pony Series Focuses mainly on a unicorn pony named Twi-light Sparkle and she is a student at Princess Celestia, who the ruler of the magical land of Equestria. As Twilight always has her mind in a book she gets the task to make some friends so she gets sent the princess’s assistant who is a little kind dragon named Spike.

As Twilight makes her way through

Brony Power!

Brony Power! This article is about the sub-culture or fandom called “Bronies”. Some of you might not know what a “Brony” is, so I’m here to tell you what it’s all about. A Brony is often a teenager or a young-er man or a woman who like the TV series “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic”. But Bronies are not only males, there are also female Bronies but we don’t call them Bronies we call them “Pegasis” , As the word Brony comes from the two words “Bro” and “Pony”, Pegasis comes from the two words “Pegasus” which is known as a mythical flying horse and the word Sister.

The Actual Show Itself. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a cartoon series that is aired on a TV

Page 11: Random Dash

her days in the little town called Pony-ville she meets a lot of different ponies that will become very good friends to twilight later on in the story and a few of them are: the boyish Rainbow Dash, the glamorous Rarity, the always wor-king and strong Applejack, the timid Fluttershy and the always happy Pinkie Pie, and together they will go on many adventures and learn the true magic of friendship.

The HatersThe Brony fandom have got a lot of hate from people on the internet and I think this is because people don’t really understand the message behind the show and I think the message is that friendship is you always will have and it is a very valuable thing that you should not lose over something like lies or just simply that someone can do something that you can’t. I think they don’t really want to watch because it has gotten a kind of stamp that it is a kids’ show and if you watch you instantly become

a Brony, which it in fact does not. Just because you watch it once because you don’t trust what all the people on the internet doesn’t mean you instantly become a Brony. The factor that makes a person a Brony or a Pegasis is the fact that they like the show itself not that so-meone else says so. Why I think a lot of Bronies are hated due to that the main audience from the begin was younger children and mostly younger girls and from there the show has gotten its stamp that it’s for little girl and is you watch it it’s not as manly as like sitting up all night watching for example the super bowl which is something a lot of men sometimes do.

End?I hope this article will help you un-derstand more what a Brony is and please stop the hating.
