Dear Rotarians,

As we begin 2015, take the time to reflect on Rotary. The monthly theme is awareness. Hopefully, you are aware of what a fantastic organization we are a part of and what Rotary means locally and internationally. In February, Rotary will celebrate its 110th birthday. There are over 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide with 34,000 Rotary clubs in 200 countries.

Rotary leads the effort to eradicate polio. The Group Study Exchange program has helped more than 70,000 young professionals from 106 countries explore their career fields and the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholars program has helped more than 41,000 students from 130 countries study abroad. Rotarians make a difference!

The beginning of a new year is a good opportunity to renew inspiration for the rest of the Rotary year and share your passion for Rotary in Randolph County.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Randolph

The lending libraries beat out Bill Gates at No. 25 and Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi at No. 50. Today, there are more than 16,000 lending libraries in 55 countries. The Little Free Library phenomenon was started by Rotarian Todd Bol.

Randolph Rotary continues to build libraries in our community one book at time. Each week, we donate a book to Randolph County Partnership for Children. We also put dictionaries into the hands of third graders each year.

One of our goals for the upcoming year is to reach more children in Randolph County through our literacy efforts. With that idea in mind, we would like to provide 5th graders a book entitled Your Greatest Power. This book has inspired many people to consider their power of choice. If we can inspire rising middle school students to explore their options, we will create a legacy in our community and hopefully a book that children and
