Overall Employment Characteristics
• The overall number of jobs held by residents is largely unchanged. Only 57 fewer jobs since 2002
• Yet the overall number of jobs available in this area of Rancho Cordova has declined substantially—by almost 600 jobs
• What does this tell us?• There are significantly fewer employment opportunities in
Rancho Cordova

Conclusions
Promising employment opportunities for residents are in the service sector Ranges in skill level from retail trade to the finance industry sector
Commuters into Rancho Cordova Higher paid, more skilled professions
Residents of Rancho Cordova Lower Wage Earners
The best locations for employment opportunities seem to be moving away from the Sacramento area into southern suburban areas
Job Locations Public transit takes longer to get shorter distances, making the car the best
option to get to work for jobs near and far.
